Why do we consider people like Halle Berry, Beyonce, Rihanna, T.I., and about 90% of the African American community BLACK when most of them don't have black skin at all. I have seen really light skinned and brown skinned people yet why are they called black. There skin is not black, and why do we call people from India "brown". This doesnt make sense so please explain.

Life for a good year. On Rosh Hashanah, Jews listen to the shofar blown during lengthy prayer services, eat holiday meals, and do no work. After repenting for bad deeds through prayers, they symbolically cast off sins through the tashlich ceremony. Rosh Hashanah is both a solemn and happy day. It is a time for introspection, asking for forgiveness, giving forgiveness, resolving to do better, remembering God is King and Judge, and praying for a healthy and happy year to come. Those observing the Jewish New Year are solemn in their repentance, but happy in their confidence that God is merciful and good. On Rosh Hashanah, Jews walk to flowing water, say a prayer, and symbolically throw their sins into the water. This custom is called Tashlich (casting off). When I was a girl, we used to throw bread into the ocean to "cast off" our sins. One must also ask forgiveness directly from those whom we may have offended or harmed whether knowingly or unknowingly. Happy 5768!

To many it is astonishing to suggest, and to actually believe and teach, that, according to the Bible, the redeemed, justified, regenerated believers in Christ will become God in the sense of being the same as God in life and nature but not in the Godhead, that is, not in a rank of position, and not as an object of worship. This will take place without any essential change in the Godhead, in the eternal, immutable, triune being of the true and unique God.

Why does anything bad happen? And Last but not least Why Does this God or deity you worship not try to stop these things from happening?

I need something other than how Hades abducted her. Whats her symbol? Are there any different facts about her other than the season story. Please tell me what you know about her. Also if you find a good picture of Persephone without nudity, please link the site. Thank you.

I also would like to know whether its 6 pomegranate seeds or 3. And why Hades abducted her.

Would you honestly not want your loved one to go onto a better place if they were on their death-bed? Would you want someone to come and preach the gospel to them to at least TRY to have them accept Christ into their hearts before it was too late? I don't want anyone to be offended ...I am not meaning to hurt people in any way! I am curious as to how you would handle the situation if God forbid it should arise.

Today brings up a good reason why we need to forgive - even the worst of tragedies. Holding on to negativity only brings your own spirit down.

Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

We must forgive those associated with 9/11 or it will reflect on our own spirits/souls in eternal life.

Matthew 5:42-48 Love of Enemy
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205:42-48;&version=31;

Release the power that any "enemy" from 9/11/01 would hold on you by forgiving them now. Please state your intentions today. Set yourself free from this hurt as soon as possible. Do not harbor the resentment for this occurrence anylonger. Do not relinquish your power, your strength, or your rewards for eternal life by holding onto tragedies, and commemorating them. Please pray! Affectionately, Marianne

Heard of James Randi and his $1000 000 challenge? http://skepdic.com/randi.html These psychics and spoon benders scamming ppl out of their pay checks could easily get this money if just proving to him that their "gift" is real. If any "psychics" wish to answer this then please explain why nobody has gotten that money since he first offered it 10 years ago

I just think it's wrong how these scammers take advantage of people in need ..if you really had such a gift wouldn't you want to share, for free??

Have a good day and thanx for input

GOD, He still gets their attention?

2007-09-11 10:35:17 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

Symbolic.

Everything that Jesus commanded to do they claim is not neccesary but is just symbolic of something else.

Jesus commanded to be baptised but they say it is "symbolic" and not neccesary for salvation.

Jesus commanded to eat his "flesh" drink his "blood" and that if you didnt you would have no life in you. Yet they claim that Jesus was deluded and communion is just "symbolic"

Why do these people follow the commands and technings of men instead of God through the hold bible and holy church.

How come so many non believer's of God ask such goofy questions? Like they are trying to pick on Christians or intice them into a verbal fight. Do they have nothing better to do? This is a religious section. To me, I see it as they "wonder", but really do not know and are interested but are afraid to admit the truth. Why can't they just ask questions to thier fellow non believers about stuff they'd like to honestly know about? A real question. Not a joke question. I mean, I would think that most of us on here are adults and should act like one. Those questions are just foolish and they know it too. What do you think fellow Christians?

That is Christians who haven't read the entire Bible, which is most of them. You'd think that by reading God's infallible word would make a believer out of you. I wonder why that isn't the case.

i don't care what denomination you are or what god you worship. if there is a god, one of you out there has gotta have it right. so why don't all of you pray together for the same thing? you could pray for me to get the chicken pox tomorrow. certainly, god won't be able to ignore all your prayers. if i don't get chicken pox tomorrow, then you have to admit you were wrong. deal? and if i'm wrong, well i have to suffer through the chicken pox. isn't that bad enough?
