Heard of James Randi and his $1000 000 challenge? http://skepdic.com/randi.html These psychics and spoon benders scamming ppl out of their pay checks could easily get this money if just proving to him that their "gift" is real. If any "psychics" wish to answer this then please explain why nobody has gotten that money since he first offered it 10 years ago
I just think it's wrong how these scammers take advantage of people in need ..if you really had such a gift wouldn't you want to share, for free??
Have a good day and thanx for input

With a risk of sounding disrespectful, which is not my intention, I do believe that some of you that call yourself psychics believe that you have the gift, however the fact that some of you use cards with pictures to "assist" you in "helping" people just says it all..I know there's a long history behind these "tarot cards" doesn't change the fact it's just cards with pictures on them. I hear lots of excuses here and I did read HUG's posted link and...uhm...so?? sorry didn't mean to be rude but really...
He is not the only one offering money to who ever can prove their abilities so...how far will all these excuses take you? At some point SOMEONE should be able to prove SOMETHING somehow don't you think??
Anyway thanx for all the posts very informative and intresting
Have a great day :)

I remember watching a show when James Randi was trying to debunk a famous psychic. She dodged his questions entirely by asking him if he believed in God. He asked her which one and then finally figured out which one she was talking about. He then said he didn't believe in any gods. She responded by telling him how sorry she felt for him. To me, she exposed herself as a fraud.

I do. I do not charge for what I do. The gift just dose not work like what this man is demanding. 1. most of us need something to use, balls mirrors, cards, ect. Any good psychic shoudl tell you what they see are things that might happen. I can see sometimes up to five different outcomes in one lay out. AS far as gifts go should someone who as talent in healing give thier services alway free, or someone who is a math wiz do people books and taxes for free. People charge for thier ablties all the time. If I go in to clean a house of spirits I charge, it is dangerous and very hard. Plus there are things I need. If I should do it for free than the doctor that did replace my vaule in my heart should have done it for free. It as taken many years for me to learn what I do just as it did anyone else.

The problem here is that Randi is looking for scientific proof. Just because you may have an extraordinary power doesn't mean that power can stand up to the standards of his test. Just because someone gets flashes of the future doesn't mean they can do it on demand, for example. It's like declaring that car doesn't properly work because it fails the Turing Test (a test for Artificial Intelligence). The car can work just fine (for a car) but will, of course, utterly fail in the particular aspects that the Turing Test examines.

I see nothing wrong in earning my living with my gift. I never quoted a price for any of my readings when I read on Jackson Square in New Orleans. I have ALWAYS allowed people to operate on a donation basis with me and HAVE given free readings to those who needed it.
I have had problems shutting out impressions if I have physical contact with a person, so that is why I use the cards as a intermediate contact.
My religious beliefs forbid me from giving a false reading and although I know there are scammers out there, I also know that there are others like me......

ok I will address a few points here
A - although I dont charge and have never charged , I see nothing wrong with people charging for any service they do
B- James Randi can keep his money , he would swear black was white if it meant him keeping his name
lets face it , if anyone was proven to be true ... where would that leave him ?
and this is the reason no one has won that money

it is a long read ... but a good read

You're on-target right, CC. True psychics battle each waking day with their "gift", which for many are described as a curse; but one that can be wielded for good.
True psychics NEVER profit from their gift.

It is also funny how they never win the lottery
Rovale also there was another psychic that kept asking him where the money is and if it even existed and he answered where it was. Shouldn't she have known where the money is if she was psychic? LOL

If I authorised the present, my kids might cut up the cash; already understand the results of that race. Gulp! (That's what the lions could do with my frame elements after they cut up ME.)
