That is Christians who haven't read the entire Bible, which is most of them. You'd think that by reading God's infallible word would make a believer out of you. I wonder why that isn't the case.

Yes, when I read " Whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death" with my rosy coloured glasses I see pointless rules and death what's your translation?

Because some of us don't read with rosy-colored glasses. But this whole question shows that you still do.

Very true, but also the amount of "God is good, so anything that is in the bible has to be good". I just answered a question on Abraham and his test of sacrificing Issac. It was amazing that Christians thought that it was just a test of faith but had no empathy for a father getting ready to kill his son.

No, it's not ironic at all. Many atheists are atheists BECAUSE they read the Bible. When you read it from cover to cover, you see how completely flawed the whole thing is. The only way you could honestly believe Xianity is if you hadn't read it.

Saint Augustine found the Bible ridiculous as well, he even became Manichean, until he met Saint Ambrose, who finally explained to him how great it really was and how to interpret it.
In life one never knows...
