Symbolic.

Everything that Jesus commanded to do they claim is not neccesary but is just symbolic of something else.

Jesus commanded to be baptised but they say it is "symbolic" and not neccesary for salvation.

Jesus commanded to eat his "flesh" drink his "blood" and that if you didnt you would have no life in you. Yet they claim that Jesus was deluded and communion is just "symbolic"

Why do these people follow the commands and technings of men instead of God through the hold bible and holy church.

Jesus said more about the bread and wine being his flesh and blood than almost anything else.

Even when people understood that Jesus meant his Physical blood and flesh and thought he was nuts and decided to abandon him Jesus did nothing to set the record straight.

If he meant that it was sybolic it would have been fine as the people were used to the idea of ritual sacrifice and someome dieing for their sins would not have been that weird.

The fact that they would have to receive the real presence of Christ through Communion would have been enough to confuse them.

I only claim that what Jesus said is symbolic when he clear demonstrates that it is in fact symbolic. I do not believe that Baptism is simply symbolic. And Jesus said himself that the "bread is my flesh". You can only rationally understand that statement by saying that Jesus was saying the the bread represented his flesh. The bread was not literally his flesh.
