One might say: "why do you waste your time over the existence of a god if it doesn´t impact your income or your love life or even your friendship circles".
I would tend to agree, if it wasn´t for this little detail of "buggy software".
You see, even if we seem to be made from the same mold, everything demonstrates that subtle changes can have disastrous effects. If we really were so similar, communication would be so perfect as to render most conversations (and especially arguments) useless.
As we are not, I think that stressing the foundations of one´s communication tools is paramount.
From my point of view, a computer Operating System (OS) is bug riddled if its assumptions do not match facts (Checksums) and twists the files to show what it wants (a puter couldn´t do that of course because it´s not analogous).
But humans can, and do. So for me a god-free frame of mind is important in a person because at least it tells me that one sees the world with facts, not wishful thinking.

do you expect to get your money back? ( o _ 0 ) Normally I lean towards never seeing my money again. Why? Because people that ask to borrow money didn't have it in the first place. So I know they're not going to be expedient in recipocating what they borrowed? I said my last statement with a question mark because it's not entirely true. Maybe 60 to 70% of people won't pay up? Your thoughts.

Take for instance Bessy Blount got pregnant with Henry Fizroy, Henry VIII's bastard son, why did he leave Bessy but yet give her land and her husband a title. Many King's aren't mean but they leave the women. Plus after sex the women get attached and the men don't, why is that?

First of all the bible rarely even mentions this character. When it does, it is a creature who masquerades as an angel and works for god as The Advesary. His job is to question the loyalty of god's servants so that 'god be not mocked'. The word devil in Greek means a caster or thrower. (As in casting aspersions.)
He tests David's loyalty (David fails), Job (who passes) and Jesus (who also passes.
The idea that this character is the source of evil came from Jewish leaders during the Babylonian exile who took from Persian invaders, the Zoroastrian 'evil god' Ahriman (as opposed to the 'good god', Ahura Mazda) and decided it explained how a 'good god' could allow evil in the world.
They then reinterpreted elements of the bible (Ezekial 28, about the fall of the Prince of Tyre and Isaiah 14 about the fall of the king of Babylon) to be about the satan.
The bible never makes Satan the King of Hell. That's a post biblical concept. Mostly from John Milton.

Okay, bear with me, I'm trying to follow a chain of thought here.

Those who answered the first follow up, I left some comments....you may wish to edit to respond on that one.

Okay....there are a great many people who have claimed to have had some personal experience with aliens/spaceships/etc.

Do these accounts tend to make you more or less willing to believe in aliens (or don't have an effect)?

Magick works. If it didn't I wouldn't bother with it. I worship the two archetypes of the ONE, the God & The Goddess, but lately I've been feeling drawn to the Quaker Christian faith. I feel all warm and crap when I read about it. Should I experiment, or should I remain faithful to my own religion?

It was funny he kept saying u guys shuld give it to me then i will think about it. I said in return ,'' see how beautiful neiece i have given u'' and u still ask for 3 million.

it was a joke. when we came in room. my hubby said, i cannot beleive u said something so stupid , unappropriate and serious.

I was gobsmacked he said watch out wt u say. It can be perceived as serious and non relevant ans to a joke.

DO U PEOPLE THINK IT WAS STUPID OF ME? am i stupid?

I'm 16 years old.. and i have a boyfriend who is beautiful inside and out. We are both Christians, and we both know the "no sex before marriage rule", follow it. We respect each other and opinions. We both have many friends but we are a team together and we work together. I do know that you never know what's going to happen in a relationship, whether me and him will break up, or whether we won't. I don't believe in the whole teenage love isn't true thing, because i do understand in order to have a successful relationship you have to work at it; You need to sacrifice, forgive, and love with all your heart. We are both willing to do this. Seems like nothing except God can tear us apart. But i had prayed to God if he isn't the right person, don't let us continue, but if he is, let him stay and i will love him with all of my heart. It is almost a year now. The thing is.. we are both of different race. People do not take us seriously, and MY (not his) parents will shun me if we were to get

For the past few months I've been wondering what is going on with me. I've always been attracted to men and have had feelings for them, but have always wondered about what it would be like to be with a woman, and it turns me on a little, but not nearly as much as being with a man. I've never acted on being with a woman nor have I ever had feelings for one, but I've always had feelings for men since I was like 3. What is going on with this? Can anyone explain this to me? Is it possible to just be a little into the same sex? Could this make me a lesbian? Shouldn't I have feelings for someone of the same sex. And on this note, do you have to try being with someone physically to know you're attracted to them? Thank you.

Okay, I asked agnostics and atheists if you believed in life on other planets, and the overwhelming answer was yes.

Yet we have no proof of it. I am eliminating one answer which questions whether they're living in "another dimension"....but all the others seemed to indicate that the sheer SIZE of the universe led them to believe that we were probably not alone.

Now follow me here....being a Christian I wonder why the sheer complexity of that same universe does not lead you to think that God might exist, too.

It appears that you are willing to accept the possibility of aliens without ANY scientific proof that they exist, but for God you require some "proof". Doesn't that seem hypocritical?

I am NOT saying you are all hypocritical. If anything, agnostics and atheists are less so than Christians because they believe what they believe and don't say one thing and do another, which some people calling themselves "Christians" do.

A Christian is bitten by a Vampire. The Christian still has the same religious belief and believes in being "saved by Jesus." There is no book or evidence that I can find in fiction or Non-fiction that states a person loses their religious beliefs or protections when bitten by a vampire. Therefore. the cross and holy water bit has to be what is called Artistic License to allow for a weapon or a twist to a book or movie to bring it to a climax.

A Christian Vampire that did not take life would be committing no designated sin. Therefore there could be (if you think they are real) Vampires in heaven.

I've seen both Muslims AND non-Muslims condeming eachother... pointing fingers n stuff...

BUT my problem right now... is with SOME of the Muslims here on R&S...
We (Muslims) all know that SOME non-Muslims claim Allah is the moon God... n so on...
These are non-Muslims... they shouldn't be blamed... cz they don't know much about Islam... I personally don't blame them...

BUT... what's the difference between this non-Muslim AND the Muslim who accuses his/her fellow Muslims of things that aren't true... making fun of their schools of thought when they don't know squat about it... calling other Muslims ignorant... n so on...
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO PPL?
Don't u think that this Muslim is more to be blamed for his/her action than the non-Muslim who doesn't know much about Islam?
