I've seen both Muslims AND non-Muslims condeming eachother... pointing fingers n stuff...

BUT my problem right now... is with SOME of the Muslims here on R&S...
We (Muslims) all know that SOME non-Muslims claim Allah is the moon God... n so on...
These are non-Muslims... they shouldn't be blamed... cz they don't know much about Islam... I personally don't blame them...

BUT... what's the difference between this non-Muslim AND the Muslim who accuses his/her fellow Muslims of things that aren't true... making fun of their schools of thought when they don't know squat about it... calling other Muslims ignorant... n so on...
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO PPL?
Don't u think that this Muslim is more to be blamed for his/her action than the non-Muslim who doesn't know much about Islam?

An ignorant Muslim is more dangerous than a non- Muslim basher.

Some people are affected by media or lies of certain Imams and take that for guaranteed for life, they never try to look or research, rejecting the Command of ALlah Ta'ala: "Iqraa!" - "Read!"...

The real danger is not from a non Muslim who takes a verse out of its context.. but from a Fanatic Muslim who does so to serve a theory...

Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal "Hanbali"and Imam yahya "Maliki" were different schools of thought and Friends.... they once were in a Mosque where the sheikh said in a speech: Narrated...., Narrated,,, thru......... Narrated Imam AHMED and YAHYA(!!), that whosoever pay charity to the sheikh of the masjid to distribute it as he see.. is granted paradise with 99 castles ............ (very long Hadith)....

After the prayers they went to him.. and asked: "From where did you get this hadith?" He said: from Ibn Hanbal and yahya...! Imam Yahya said: "This is Ahmed Ibn Hanbal, and I'm Yahya and we never narrated that!!"

The Shiekh said: "Are you fools? are you the only Ibn Hanbal and Yahya on earth?" and left quickly !!

So some mulsims follow any information that comes to them blindly.. They ban Shiism and say Shia believe: "Ali is a Messenger of Allah".. Then Run to hear the Iranian Samy Yusuf Singing: "He was Muhammad, Salla Allah Alayhy Wa Sallam" (!!!!)

No mind at all.. no one of them thought: "Sami is Shia Iranian Muslim.."....

They are a part of a great goal of the enemies of Islam to split Muslims.. and when you ask one of them: "why don't you direct your efforts towards Islam bashers of non Muslims and evolutionists instead of Muslim Shias?" He's silent...

Explain it to her like this if there was an army that was going to go fight against the inhabitants of Medina, would she go do it? Would she join the army fighting against the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) at the Battle of Badr!? astaghfirullah I mean she is joining a group that go into Muslim countries and whether intentionally or unintentionally our brothers and sisters get raped, tortured, murdered...why does she want to fight her BROTHERS and SISTERS? is there really NO OTHER JOB she could do? Please be gentle but firm with her - she could potentially be fighting AGAINST MUSLIMS and that is a HUGE NO-NO and good on you for trying to convince her out of this.. not to mention the other issues of her not being able to wear proper modest clothing, and doing inappropriate things, harassment etc etc Walaykum as-salaam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

I agree with you on the point that we need to promote Islamic unity today, because that is what our share enenmies fear most.

It is also suprising for me that so many non Muslims seem to be so much worried about Us Shi'as sef-hurting!

They have gooten it sll wrong. We (or at least the vast majority of us) do not really hurt ouselves during mouring for the grandon of Prophet Muhamamd.

Have they nopt seen biggot Christians crucifying themsleves with nails?

And are not the majority of Al Qaeda, and pro-Bin Laden foolks our ignorent Sunni brethren?

Why is it then that thier loathsome deeds are less focused than our innoicent mourning for our dear Imam Hussain (PHUH)?

Asalam Alaikum.

It is important to give Daw'ah and educate non Muslims and other Muslims. Whether the non Muslims want to accept Islam or not, let it be their choice. Don't force anyone to Islam because that is haram (strictly prohibited). If people have questions on Islam, no matter how aggressive they ask it, it is important to be patient and calmly answer their question. It is important to clear up the misconceptions about Islam. Always give proof, and never just say, "I'm right because it is in the Qur'an." Show them the exact surah and verse number. Islam teaches Muslims to be tolerant and respect everyone, no matter what their beliefs are.

I hope my answer helped.

Thank you for your time.

Salam.

Some people just assume things to be a certain way, get it stuck in their heads, and adamantly refuse to abandon that perspective, despite the fact that it is clearly unfounded (it is called belief perserverence in psychology). You can't take them too seriously...they could just mistaken and stubborn, they could just be ill-informed and judgmental, or they could be just pulling your leg (pretending to Muslim in order to either gain legitimacy, to defame Muslims further through the guise, or because they believe it to be true, despite knowing little about the religion).

When we point a finger towards someone, there are three fingers of our hands pointing to us and one upward. It is worst thought to believe in one's self to be most knowledgable as to judge everyone. I like the story of Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (RA) by brother Lawrance above.
