I live in California and have been getting threatening letters from a business regarding bill collection. The bills were paid and I have documents to prove this. I have contacted them many times but I am beyond the point of trying to talk to them. I want the harassment to stop. What should I do?

Forget the middle man---call your State Attorney General.!!! Make copies of EVERYTHING you have---letters, payment documentation and let his office handle it----they will go after the company on your behalf.... case closed.

If you have documents proving payment, there shouldn't be a problem. But obviously you are. Take documents to the company, show them and insist that the stop hassling you. You may be tired of talking to them, but you need to go higher up the ladder. A manager or supervisor at least. Don't talk to anybody below that.

Consult an attorney. They list themselves in the phone books advertising free consultations. I would call one and see what he has to say. I don't blame you for getting tired of their crap. Good luck to you.
