Well, first off, I'm a boxer, I've been boxing for about 2 years now, and I know what I can do, and I haven't been in a street fight since then. Since as a boxer, I've not only learned how to be a fighter, but be a better person all together, I'm much more humble when it comes to people I've never met and a lot more friendly. Being a boxer you know what you can do to people so its nothing to go around boasting about, but theres someone at my school who i absoloutely can't stand, we play football together, he acts like he's king of the school, he likes to punk out the smaller players and sometimes freshmen and steps up to me sometimes and gives me looks and thinks he can take me, ( i'm sure he thinks this ). I don't tell anyone I'm a boxer or I've been boxing other than a few close friends. Should I put this guy in his place or just walk away and continue on with what I've been doing? Why or why not should i beat his *** and put him in his place for good?
Thanks and have a blessed day!

We are taught to believe without question, in one God. We are told to believe that there is a heaven, and hell. Be faithful, and you shall be rewarded, but fall short of his grace, and be banished to the depths of hell as punishment.

Many non-believers argue that this is another form of government, created to control our ability to choose to do wrong.
My faith is being tested right now, as i was raised in church (baptist). But my common sense is envading my willpower, and breaking me down slowly, as i learn more, and think more.

My problem with "Religion" is that undeniable "What if" situation. What if, for example, religion is indeed a form of government created to control us. we spend our lives, sometimes denying things that would make us happy, because we are taught that its against God. All this control, simply to have nothing waiting on "the other side". All the things we would miss out on. less than 50 characters available so i will end it here.
Comments please.

Since Christianity and Islam are the Only two relgions which believe in the second coming of the Christ and both are suppose to follow his commands. Since he is well known not to listen to negativity and is firm in criticism of whats wrong as well as Love and support that he would render with the blessings of God to those that are suffering. What makes anyone think the very clergy of hypocrisy established well within Christians and Muslims now for the lack of Hard work and mere hypocrisy reminisent of the Religious leaders when he first came would try their best to Crucify him agian? Who do you think would come to support him? Since being his desciple means the very start of Self Correction towards purity. Now I dont have faith in myself, What about you, Do you really want him to come back?

"I am a Christian and I know for a fact that we fired on the Pentagon with a missle because I saw it. I also know that we brought down the twin towers with detonative explosives because I've viewed the video tape and heard eyewitness accounts. There is a lot of other stuff I know which I can't disclose. You see; not all Christians are gullible and listen to everything they hear."

I also believe the pentagon was hit by a missile (or small commuter plane).

I have heard from many eyewitnesses who say the official story of the pentagon attack is totally false but they are so scared that if the Govt could pull this off on our own land then what would happen to them if they openly opposed them.......

Ignorance: See below...........

The two most common forms of the argument from ignorance, can be reduced to the following form:

Something is currently unexplained or insufficiently understood or explained, so it is not (or must not be) true.

Because there appears to be a lack of evidence for one hypothesis, another chosen hypothesis is therefore considered proven.

I am sick and tired of being called ignorant because I am a Christian. According to the above statement, I could call atheists and non believers ignorant (but I would never stoop that low) Name calling is immature and rude.

It is said thatthe water that caused the drowning of the world during Noah's Flood had been in the atmosphere, waiting to fall at God's command.

Saturn has a lot of ice circling it. Do you think this is a '****** pistol' waiting for the word of God to drown Saturn?

Wouldn't that mean there must be life on Saturn? Or would God drown an uninhabited planet just for the fun of it?

And the rings around Uranus are small, almost nonexistent. Does that mean there are only a few life forms on Uranus, and it won't need to be drowned as much?

And the planets without rings. Does that mean they were already punished?

Do you think God does that a lot in a universe this big?

Things that make you go "hmm". (o.O)

before we come into a saving knowledge of Christ, we have all paid homage to idols. It could be our job, money wives children, a myriad of idols. if this is so, then there would be absolutely no forgiveness of sins.

I ask this, because this was an answer to another question of mine.

Here below are some samples from the Gospels about what Jesus said against the Jews:

“But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. [Matt.12:39]

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.” [Matt.16:4]

“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” [Matt.3:7]

“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” [Matt.12:34]

“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?” [Matt.23:33]

"Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?" [Luke.3:7]

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." [John 8:44]

Here below are samples of verses against the Jews from the Book of Revelation (NT):

"… I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan." [Rev. 2:9]

"Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee." [Rev. 3:9]

Here below are some samples from the Jewish Bible against the Jews:

"Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded with guilt, a brood of evildoers." [Isaiah 1:4]

"Listen to the word of the Lord, O sons of Israel, for the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land, Because there is no faithfulness or kindness Or knowledge of God in the land. There is swearing, deception, murder, stealing, and adultery. They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed. [Hosea 4:1-2]

Let’s next look at what the founder of Protestant movement, Martin Luther (1483-1546), wrote in 1543 (something that was used as a pretext by Adolf Hitler for implementing the earlier phase of his "final solution" against the Jews):

"What shall we Christians do with this rejected and condemned people, the Jews? Since they live among us, we dare not tolerate their conduct, now that we are aware of their lying and reviling and blaspheming. If we do, we become sharers in their lies, cursing and blasphemy. Thus we cannot extinguish the unquenchable fire of divine wrath, of which the prophets speak, nor can we convert the Jews. With prayer and the fear of God we must practice a sharp mercy to see whether we might save at least a few from the glowing flames

Sure is here for us in this part of coastal GA. Finally got some much needed rain and what a treat it was to wake up to the sound of it! Plus I've had a humming bird entertaining me all morning at the flowers right outside the kitchen window. Hope that you're having a great day too, and that you're finding pleasure in the simple things around us. Enjoy the Labor Day weekend everyone.

I'm from Japan and really interested in an American culture. I hope my English is understandable.
Why is Friday an important day for people in America? I often hear the phrase, "TGIF=Thank God, it's Friday!"
Does Friday have a profound meaning to American people?
Do they do something special every Friday? Party or something?
And do you know the backgrounds or history(?) of this fact? For example, when did people start to think Friday is an important day?
I'm curious to know about these.
Thank you in advance! :-)

Know of any documented mass hallucinations throughout history?

How many people used to believe Earth was flat? Comets were gods?

Why would the precedent of a social dynamic like mass hallucination have mysteriously disappeared today, and can it ever disappear regardless of the level of knowledge and learning of a society/race/planet?
