On May 13, 1981, a man shot Pope John Paul II. As the ambulance carried him to the hospital, the Pope kept praying, "Mary, my mother! Mary, my mother!" One year later, the Pope made a pilgrimage to Fatima to thank Our Lady of Fatima for saving his life and to consecrate the entire human race to her. The video "Catholicism: Crisis of Faith" shows the Pope kissing the feet of a statue of Mary.

Millions of pilgrims go to shrines which honor apparitions of Mary. Every year fifteen to twenty million pilgrims go to Guadalupe in Mexico, five and a half million go to Lourdes in France, five million go to Czestochowa (Jasna Gora) in Poland, and four and a half million go to Fatima in Portugal. Special dates draw huge crowds. On August 15, half a million pilgrims go to Czestochowa. On October 13, a million people go to Fatima. On December 12, 1999, five million pilgrims went to Mexico to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Are these pilgrims worshipping Mary?

This person is alleged to have had the power to heal the sick and raise the dead. He preached a message of love, forgiveness and the worship of the One True God. Roman authorities, fearing that his expanding fellowship might pose a social or political threat, arrested him and had him put to death. Following his execution, his disciples said he rose from the dead, appeared to them to deliver a message, and then ascended into Heaven.

Can you guess who this is?? Also, please star this - Id like as many people as possible to respond!!

Will you please share your thoughts? Thank You!

Think About This One!!! It is short, but very interesting...

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market.

A toy company can out source to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market.

A shoe company can produce its shoes in Southeast Asia and claim it's a free market

A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market.

We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico . We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh . We can purchase almost anything we want from 20 different countries.

BUT, heaven help the senior citizens who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Canadian or Mexican pharmacy.

That's called un-American and illegal and our politicians want to stop it!

And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby? Think again!

Isn't more than one deity too much for most believers to manage?
Doesn't monotheism by contrast offer convenience?
Are most humans too lazy to worship multiple deities?

I posted this in the Christian section because i want a Christian view point. I am mad at my husband because he argues with me about how maxim, stuff, and gq are not bad magazines for men to read. He used to have a problem with pornography, so that magnifies my worries. He says he doesn't look at those magazines for the half naked/naked girls in them. Well, last night he was arguing with me that these magazines are not bad, and I feel very very hurt....am I over-reacing for being hurt. I mean, I thought that he changed and was not into that anymore, but now I wonder.

Why do many Christians, especially fundamentalist, consider every ideology they disagree with (Atheism, Liberalism etc) intrinsically a religion, when it isn't? Does it make those ideas easier to hate if they consider them a different religion? And, does that show the inherent intolerance of Christianity?

If you've ever wandered through a medieval castle, you know that people were shorter in "the olden days." The beds were tiny and the clothing was petite. Few kids over twelve today could fit into a suit of armor.
And we haven't stopped evolving. Each generation seems to grow taller. Children are often taller than their parents. Part of that growth is genetic and part is due to increased nutrition and other health factors that we enjoy today.

Still - most modern products are manufactured for people of average height and that leaves people at either end of the height spectrum - with fewer choices.

Why is that ? if you want anything adapted to a tall person you need to shop in specialty stores. But almost everyone is taller now. Average height for a man is now 6 feet, average for woman is 5'9. Why aren't the manufacturers adapting to this. Dont they realise their sales are dropping?

Everything is seeming to be problems lately...I try to hang on but I am about at the end of my rope...

Now YA took away my level 7 account because I can't afford DSL (and the associated yahoo DSL email account) and they published my real name online under my level 7 YA icon and they won't fix it.

But that is just the icing on the cake of my problems...

The other morning I took a pair of underwear out of the drawer. "What the hell?" I said to myself as a little "dust" cloud appeared when I shook them out. "Buddy," I hollered into the bathroom, "why did you put talcum powder in my underwear?" He shot back: "It's not talcum powder. It's 'Miracle Grow'."

Then why are you still on R&S answering the questions about something you don't believe in anyway? If we bother you so much and you hate the way we bring the gospel, why answer the questions?
If you can answer any question on R&S without malice and with proof to back up your answer, that's great. Give it to us. But if all you can do is show us how prevalent Satan's ways are in this world, go somewhere else

I sent out e-vites three weeks in advance, and a reminder 2 days in advance. Almost half the people who said "yes" didn't show, and none of the "maybes" showed.

I've lived here for 15 years, and I thought these people were my friends. I'm so mad, I don't know what to do.

this cruel and selfish being? and very cold hearted? when he isnt? God is ALL Loving and forgiving. He is not a sick being who enjoys making us suffer. we are here to learn. we mess up, but God is not going to throw us in to hell for messing up or for using our brains and questioning the Bible. why do some of you keep making him in to something he isnt?

If you look in the Bible, there are an amazing number of people that God wants his followers to murder. For example, in Exodus 35:2 God lays down this commandment:

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

Think about that how many people work on the Sabbath -- all the employees of Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Linnens & things, grocery stores, convenience stores, power plants, airlines, hospitals, emergency services and on and on and on. Don't rabbis, priests and preachers work on the Sabbath? God wants all of them dead.

What about this:

If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.
That's a lot of people who need to be killed.

Notice that believers completely ignore these parts of the Bible. That is because they know that the verses are insane.
