We are always encouraged to be an example for others, and there are always people around us who are an example for ourselves. Like for me, in real life, my examples for follow are the missionaries and my Relief Society president. But while you're online in YA, reading and meeting other people, do you see someone as the example for you? who? why?

I have, althought I love all my contacts, I really pay attention to questions and answers of some of my contacts, some especific ones and based on their knowledge they have about the church and the way they write and express themselves, I remember them in my everyday. I love all my contacts, one my examples to follow can be you. I love you all

So christians, after adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit, man parted from god forever... thats a popular christian view.. what about "I am merciful . . . and I will not keep anger for ever" yet he has grudged against me because of something man did millions of years ago, is it too much to understand that i am a different person. Why is it I'm born into the concequences of what man did so many years ago?

But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence.
Luke 19:27
That was said by jesus.
If taken literally the bible is just as violent as the koran.

Even to the christians who don't take it literally, how do you determine what to pick and choose from the bible? Why the ten commandments and not the verse saying you should stone your children if they talk back to you?
Doesn't it go to show that morals aren't derived from the bible? That we have preconditioned morals and you pick and choose in the bible according to those, which leaves the bible unnecessary.

Well, I guess I answered my own question. Charles Darwin wanted people to think we evolved from monkeys because he's a satanist! By the way, my pastor shares the same theory.

this is my prayer for you
15For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),
16I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.
17[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
19And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
20Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places.]

My Aunt's 50th birthday is today and we are throwing her a surprise birthday party. The problem is I really don't like my aunt... I can't stand being in the same room with her!
1) She ignores me and then when she finally notices me she insults me.
2) My older sister is her favorite and she has no problem with comparing us. My sister always being the greater.
3)When I was younger she treated me like sh!t.
4) She cusses like a sailor and she is loud and obnoxious!
5) 2 years ago I got sick with the stomach flu and lost alot of weight.(I'm naturally skinny) I was 80 pounds! When she saw me she told everyone that I was anoerix and bulimic! Now everytime I see her she always brings up how I was starving myself and how sickly I looked even though I'm back to my healthy size.
6)She is VERY superficial/high maintenance
7)This one made me lose respect for her: She uses the foster kids for their money!

that for the VAST majority of religious people, they accept a religion because it's the religion they were born into? If you had been born in Iraq or Iran to Muslim parents....don't you think you would be a Muslim?

I am a faithful Christian, but sometimes I have these things pop in my head that makes me wonder. I know its wrong, but I'm sure we all come across these thoughts. Some questions I wonder about is what happens to the mentally challenged and the people who have never heard about God. Also what happens to a person who used to be a Christian, and then became mentally challenged after an accident/incident. Also what happens to the aborted babies, and the babies killed by accidents/murders. My answer is that God will have mercy on them, and that he shows mercy to them because they are not spiritually able to accept God. I have faith that God will do what is right, but I've asked this to some fellow Christians and there were mixed responses. These things always boggle my mind, and I guess we shall find out eventually.

In the Old Testament it was "An eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth" but in the New Testament Jesus said "If a man strikes you on the cheek you are to turn the other cheek".

Everyday I go outside and hear my neigbors yelling Allah Akbar and running through a gauntlent style course they constructed. last week I saw them with Ak-47's standing around a handcuffed guy in an orange jumpsuit talking to a camera in some foreign language. I really though it was odd when Osama Bin Laden came over for Ramadan dinner with presents for their kids. They are always very friendly with me talking about gold chains and how Im their "Main Man." But there is something unusual about their behavior. I have though about constucting a CIA style bootcamp in my backyard to balance the extremism in the neighborhood. What should I do?

Imagine a family member of yours gave you a check as a gift, but you lost it before you had a chance to cash it. Would you call them up and ask them to write you another check or would you just forget about it? What would you do? Why or why not?

A) it offered the simplicity of monotheism in lieu of keeping track of several gods
B) its narrative was more interesting (and had also the advantage of appearing earlier than, eg, the narrative of Islam)
C) it was used by a relatively powerful politican at the time (Constantine getting a head start on later Sultans spreading Islam) who used his influence to spread it (as compared to the Jews being relatively weak against Egypt and thus not as well equipped to popularize Judaism)

In modern times, in the absence of state sponsored indoctrination, what will maintain the popularity? If we take human preference of dealing with one deity instead of several as a given, then does it just boil down to which narrative had the most compelling explosions, car chases, sex, etc? (The preceding is metaphor!)
