Thinking about the way Christians and other religions behave to God, if you were God is this the way you would want to be treated?

No...and if I were God I would not *need* them to either. I believe God is All That Is (the alpha & omega, male & female, yin & yang, etc) Therefore the God I believe in has no requirements. The God I know does not need to be placated.

That's all "us" and our egos projecting our human-ness and OUR needs/wants onto God.

No, I'd rather be like the Greek gods espcially the one of wine... I'd want my people to celebrate life, be kind, and enjoy. If I felt the need for them to have free choice, I'd make it more along the lines of we're having fun here and if you want to come on over otherwise enjoy your self where you are. (Note: if evil had inadvertantly crept in, I would have destroyed it immediately).

It should also be noted that there would be easily accessible reminders through out the world of any rules that I might have and clear and simple instructions on how to reach me -- by simply wanting to be with me they would be immediately in my presence. After all I created them to fellowship with me, why stay away from them.

Edit:
Sorry sort of got caught up in answering this in a light hearted way. The point is if I create man to fellowship with, I would not make the choice between good and evil, heaven and hell - I don't make anyone I cherish now make those choices either (Sorry, marry me or burn in hell). I would make it easy to find me. If I authorized a book then there would be facts and evidence to back it up. If I sent a sign, everyone would know about it and all records of it would exist throughout the ages.

When you think of offerings and tithing I think you have a misperception. Of course many people give their offering to the Church, but an offering can be given to the poor, and a charitable organization. I think an offering is a good idea, there are many people out there that can use it much more then we can. Also you should never say "if you were a God", because thats never happening.

No, if I was omnipotent, why would I want any of that stuff? I could just make anything I wanted and it would undoubtedly be superior to anything a human could make or do.

Why would I want people to be praising me all time? I can't imagine that someone who is all-powerful and all-knowing really needs to have their ego stroked constantly. The only people that would want something like that would be people that have horrible inferiority complexes or who are extremely insecure about themselves.

The idea of demanding constant worship reminds of people like North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. These types of leaders appear to feel a need to constantly be indoctrinating their followers so that they will be able to keep control of them.

no a cup of tea, one sugar, bit of milk, but I'd prefer chai, one sugar, milk, and maybe a foot rub with Jasmin oil, oh and whale music in the background some scented candles and a shoulder rub, with a happy ending but that last one can be optional as i did only work 6 days out of seven to create them oh and love everyone must love one another and get on not agree get on

No, I wouldn't want people to worship me.
And I would not allow free will, I would boss every single soul about and tell them how they should behave.
I would be a terrible God.

Have you heard the way some people sing? He must be deaf by now!
But I wouldn't mind being adored and showered with gifts for a change.

"For as High as the heavens are above the earth are Gods ways above our ways and Gods thoughts above our thoughts"

We have no right to question God, or how He is. Think about it Isaiah says there are 2 angels, constantly flying about the throne of God, and they continually sing :
"Holy is the the Lord, God Almight, the earth is filled with His Glory" And this singing is so loud it shakes the door posts of heaven. Later on we see this same revelation Given by Jesus to John describibg these same angels singing the same song in linear time approx 2000 years later.

These angels will never quit (except for the 1/2 hr of silence that is to come). They have sung for God always, and will sing for eternity, let us that are called sing with them

HOLY HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
THE EARTH IS FILLED WITH HIS GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN.

PS: some of you people have no clue.

I would say it would be proper compensation, as since God has created us (pardon to evolutionists) and we ask of him most anything that we need, he should feel as though we still need him, and not that he is the only one giving and giving. Worship and offerings would make you feel all warm and tingly inside if you were to provide to MILLIONS of people who, in return, worship you.
