Anytime a Christian asks a question in the Religion & Spirituality section they get some really mean answers from atheists and non-Christians. It's a good thing we believe in turning the other cheek. My advice is to ignore them. Lots of good people will give you thoughful sincere answers too.

Welcome to the real world of R and S. There are many atheists who hang out on this site and there are a lot of people who answer, just to stir the pot, so to speak. If you let them get the better of you, then you have allowed them to succeed and that is their goal. Try to remember this Latin phrase" Novus, illigitimus, carborundum" which translated in the revised standard version is "Don't let the( and I am substituting a couple of words here) illegitimate persons) grind you down.

Some people in here are rude.
There is constant bashing going on, and they may have assumed your question was meant to make fun of someone as opposed to being serious.
