You know you're never going to change anyone's mind! Yeah, you disagree about the existence of God, so what's the point of fighting over it incesently?

Is there any scientifically gathered empirical data supporting the belief that homosexuality is a concious choice?

If so did God create that vacume/void that he/she/it/that was existing in? If not wouldnt that mean that the vacume/void existed before God, thus dismising the assumed fact that god is alpha and omega. The beginning and end. I believe that this nothingness/void/vacume existed before anything else existed. Let me know what you guys think. Thx to all the people who asnwer. :)

Anyone know which Darwinian scholar wrote the following? An easy 10 points to the first to get it right.

“The lack of conflict between science and religion arises from a lack of overlap between their respective domains of professional expertise—science in the empirical constitution of the universe, and religion in the search for proper ethical values and the spiritual meaning of our lives. The attainment of wisdom in a full life requires extensive attention to both domains—for a great book tells us that the truth can make us free and that we will live in optimal harmony with our fellows when we learn to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly.”

Any one else agree that “The attainment of wisdom in a full life requires extensive attention to both domains.”

Some Jehovah Witness answers and says
it wasn't your mother it was a demon, just what makes them think they know all, I think they have demons in the brain.

Will there be the normal religious nutcases denying that science is a reliable source?

Or will the devoutly religious go into hiding, secretly plotting a revolution against science?

This is just a clarification of my last question because poeple weren't really understanding it.

If a person dies without confessing their sin (to God - not a presist or other person) do they still go to Heaven if they are considered to be saved?

I know you aren't God so please don't say "I''m not God i can't judge" or something like that because i already know and understand what you are saying.

If you aren't Christian then just don't bother answering.

I was wondering if he are given freedom of choice, but God knows everything, what is the true point of living what he already knows? Why does he create sinners, who he knows will go to hell?

tell me your opinion of why you believe that evolution or creation (intelligent design) explains the world. Also, what do you see as the fundamental difference between religious and scientific thought? Please provide evidence for your responses.

I know it's not law and I do believe in the right of expression.

But I see people who would claim to be "honoring" the flag flying ragged tattery ones, letting yard flags droop into mud, wearing them on clothes and spilling this and that one them, putting the logo of their favorite team on them...

Do people not know? Not care? Or do they think everything has changed with 9/11?

i got my nails done yesterday at a vietnamese salon..it's an inexpensive place (but so are ALL the vietnamese places...) i was supposed to pay 30 for a mani/pedi and 7 each for french tip (14, total, right?). anyway.

when i first walked in, they were NOT busy, and the lady took her time. then people started walking in like a mad house, and she started to do someone else's nails (removed polish) half way through MY pedicure. she didn't wash her hands between clients, and either way, overall she was way too rushed. then when it came time to do MY manicure, she was cutting my cuticles and made me bleed, TWICE. oh and she did a halfass job on my topcoat. or at least i feel like it.

for some reason, when i went to pay, my total came out to be 36 dollars...i tipped her 1 dollar because of the horrible service, regardless that she charged me less. was that wrong?

In your mind, what makes it difficult to believe in God? I am a Christian but it's really important to me to understand what non-Christians feel/think and why y'all think we're nuts!

I have to agree with everyone about people preaching in the open air - it IS annoying and there are certain ways to do that, just not over a megaphone! But to be fair, at festivals like Newday and Soul Survivor...my sisters went to the latter and 1000 people were saved in one night!!

I keep reading questions and answers about Christians and how they should tolerate this and accept that if they know God's "love". For example, a question was just asked of Christians and why won't they accept homosexuality. It seems to me that the bible is very clear on this subject, so I'm not going to bother with listing chapter and verse. Do you ever feel like there are those people who try desperately to get you to accept a lifestyle that you know you can't because of your biblical and personal convictions? What do you think of all the appeals to pity and emotions that are used to try and persuade you to accept that which you know you cannot accept, and still call yourself one of God's people? Is there a line that *should* seperate you from even considering such a thing?

As usual, only intelligent responses welcome.

Why is it when another Atheist directs a question to Christians must other Athiests answer? They asked for the Christian view point in most cases, not their own. The question was asked of Christians. Just like here I am asking Atheists to answer and I expect atheists to answer.

I have a friend who has a very annoying habit. Whenever she tries to call me and I either don't answer or I say "I'm busy, I'll call you back later", she calls me back within just a few minutes.
I have a pretty busy schedule, which she constantly "forgets". I have a full time Monday-Friday job, I go to school at night on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I take classes in Tae Kwon Do on Tuesdays and Thursdays. About the only time anyone can get in touch with me is after 8:00pm other than weekends. I could understand if she had to tell me something important, but it's always to simply chat.
For example: Wednesday night while I was at school, my friend called me FOUR times. Obviously I couldn't answer it! And I firmly believe that if it's an emergency, they'll leave a message. Other than that, it's not important. She never left a message, and when she DID get in touch with me, sure enough, she just wanted to chat.
Am I going to have to write down a copy of my schedule for this chick?!?
