Some listen.
Some will never listen.
Some are still seeking, but really don't know.
It is for the sake of the latter, that they might be settled in Truth that I respond.

The point in the argument seems absurd.
If atheists "win" will God go POOF!?
If believers "win" -- well, we won't win them ALL.
OF COURSE other religions fight each other! Who has NOT gone to war against the Jews? What were the Crusades all about? Ask a Witness or a Mormon about persecution -- or a Muslim in America. I don't say it's right, but it is still happening. Religions even squabble amongst themselves. The odd thing is, it's rarely about religious things, just excuses to reduce the population.
Is there no dualism in atheism? No black and white, good and bad, up and down, right and wrong? Dualism is an Earthly necessity.
It's time for atheists and believers alike to admit that atheism IS a religion, and they have just as much right to be stupid as we do. So lock and load! Shoot SOMEbody -- we all need more room to get away from each other, right?
Can You tell i'm being sarcastic? -- that i'm for peace, regardless of what side You're on.

Get a fix on the problem!
Christianity is in the minority when it comes to atheists and all the other religions. Does that not suggest to you that it is not the atheists causing this? If they were the instigators surely they would be attacking the other religions!!!
Sadly the truth is that YA is populated by very bad Christians that attack atheists and science because they do not agree with them!! Most of the attacks back at the bad Christians are in the form of ridicule and the good Christians suffer from it too!
Time for the bad religious Christians to realise what tremendous damage their postings and answers are causing!
You never see a good Christian posting that sort of thing because they believe in that inclusive loving and forgiving God!!!

I've often wondered. And the conclusion I've come to is that the arguers are basically insecure in their identity and beliefs.
Atheists don't bother me, because their beliefs can't hurt my faith unless I let them. My convictions are just that--mine. No one can take what I don't give.
So they rant and spew....and I get on with my life.
Same goes with bumptious Christians (and there are some out there.) I don't share their views and have no intention of adopting them. I was in a church for awhile that was like that, and realised I was turning into the kind of person I dislike. So I walked away.
How could I do that? Because I realised it wasn't doing me any good, I wasn't growing, and I also realised I am an adult and am responsible for my own life.
I know who I am, and Whose I am. And if someone has a problem with that, it's theirs, not mine. They don't consult me before adopting their beliefs, I'm just returning the compliment.
Never fight about politics, religion or football. It's a waste of time and energy.

I agree with you, no one is getting better, it just gets you fired up, and you go off. I admit to getting fired up as well, but when you pulled back from it, there is no point.
Someone else said, you would be admitting defeat, and I have to disagree. Even the disciples at one point said they couldn't change the people in a city, so the wiped the dust from their feet, and went to a town that was more open to God.
You aren't going to win anyone to anything by fighting, but you will win them by example and by finding people who are already open to God.
I assure you, if Jesus was here on earth, he would be more focused on how to reach the reachable, then arguing with the lost.

I agree with you! I don't like the fighting... When I reply to atheist's comments, I say "But I know I'm not going to be able to convert you to Christianity, and nothing you say will change my views either."
I will not fight. But over and over, I calmly explain my viewpoints... I hope that maybe I can at least get through to a few people... But only on certain matters because I respect atheists' views too.

Pent up sexual tension.
Okay, in reality, people have argued about these things since time began. People will always have strong feelings about it, and it will never end. It doesn't have to have a "point."
With that said, I don't fight over it incessantly. In fact, I'm friends with quite a few atheists. We have our differences, but that doesn't mean we can't get along.

Each considers that he is doing the others, and society as a whole, a favor. And in fact sometimes people's minds are changed; I have scored two converts in this forum -- which is two more than I expected.

I have been the unfortunate witness to many arguments- real and cyber- on this topic. I think that it is easier to fight than it is to focus on improving your own mind and strengthening you own personal system of ethics and morals.
I just walk away. Contention and Drama do not make me feel peaceful or centered, so it just isn't for me!

From my viewpoint: Atheists don't throw stones except when thrown at first.
Maybe others see it differently than I, but it seems that Christians (or other believers) are the people who actively try to correct the rest of us. Atheists just want to be left alone to not believe in deities. Sometimes, however, our laws and lawmakers and religious types make that difficult to do.
