Purplecat, I think you nailed something critical when you said: "The point of religion is to believe without having to see".

Perhaps this is a main reason for so many conflicting ideologies.

i understand where you are coming from. it is hard to place your trust in a book that has been translated and retranslated and wrote and rewrote so many times.

I am a wiccan high priest. I studied different religions before i made my choice on a religion. The christian faith, during my studies, i found to be to wishy-washy for my taste all of there beliefs are based on a book that seemingly was started and completed somewhere about 150years after Jesus walked the Earth. I do feel that the bible was written by a lot of intelligent men during that time, bu has no old over how we live our lives now.

I'm not super religious or whatever you said. I'm just a believer in God. If you are asking why i believe in God. .Its because of personal experiences. I've been through many things and it just feels like God was there for me. Its not something i can prove to you. Its not a law or a known fact. Its a belief and a faith. I'm not saying I'm really right I'm just saying that I believe.

I've had many doubts about my faith and my faith has been tested many times. .but every time i still come out with the same beliefs and my faith only grows from those times when it is tested. That's why i put my trust in God.

What the heck are super religious people? Nope, no links for you. But, if you spent a few weeks in my life, you would see the difference my beliefs have made, and in the many others I know , you would begin to experience why I feel it's REALLY right.

God answers my prayers, and that is the only "link" I need!!!
We know where Noah's ark is, and we have found many Biblical artifacts which back up what the Bible tells us.
God made every one of our souls. God gave us each free will--to believe in Him or not, and to live eternally in Heaven with Him or not.
Read a Bible and find out what God and Jesus said personally.
God and Jesus are very real, and you are toying with your soul.
Good luck and may God bless you.

Your Heavenly Father is the source of all truth. He loves you and wants to answer your questions. Therefore, He will help you recognize the truth as you sincerely seek it and ask Him for guidance. You can know if the things you are true if you ask your Heavenly Father in prayer. He desires for you to know the truth, and you can receive an answer from Him through the Holy Ghost. As taught in the Bible, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, [and] temperance” (Galatians 5:22–23). These feelings from the Holy Ghost are personal revelation to you that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. You will then need to choose whether you will live in harmony with the knowledge you have received.

As the Savior taught in the Bible, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you ( Matthew 7:7). Feelings from the Holy Ghost are personal revelation to you that confirm the truth.

There is a remarkable promise to anyone who wants to know what is true: “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.”

You can discover for yourself that what you’ve been learning is true by:

Sincerely praying? to your Heavenly Father and asking Him if what you are learning is true.
Continuing to study and give thoughtful consideration to what you are learning.
Listening with your heart for the Holy Ghost to whisper the truth to you.
Following God’s commandments? so you can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost.

Well... isn't the Bible proof enough? And if you don't think so, because it's so old and you consider it invalid or something... then, being religious does NOT mean having internet links to show you are right. The point of religion is to believe without having to see... and I understand if you aren't comfortable with that.

Hope this helps!

Being right doesn't make U super religious. It's called wisdom and knowledge.Pray, and ask God for it in-line with the Holy Spirit and You will see for yourself..However,Wisdom and knowledge in the wrong hands can be very harmful and damaging.
