While the royal family are members of the House of Windsor, royalty uses no surname and signs documents with their first name. Even on divorce documents, Charles and Diana merely used Charles and Diana.

As son of the Prince of Wales, William is "HRH Prince William of Wales" until his father becomes King.

The wife of HRH Prince William of Wales would be HRH Princess William of Wales. She would not be Princess Kate or anything like that.

When his father becomes King, William automatically becomes Duke of Cornwall. They would then be HRHs the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall until Charles created William as the new Prince of Wales.

hmm, I doubt that she will receive the title of Princess of Wales just yet. The title is normally reserved as the title of the heir to the throne and their respective spouse. At the moment Prince Charles is the heir; and technically, Camilla is supposed to be Princess of Wales. She refused the title after she married the Prince to avoid a fuss over her taking on the title that Princess Diana held. I don't believe Kate will receive the title on marriage. Because that would hold her at a higher ranking in the royal family than William; who will not receive the title of Prince of Wales until his father becomes King. Once Charles and Camilla become the King and Queen, then I believe both Kate and William will inherit the title of Prince and Princess of Wales. This is of course assuming the present Queen will live to see her grandson married. Cheers and have a lovely evening.

The royal family's last name is legally "Windsor." Queen Victoria had hers changed because her real one sounded too foreign for the times (Saxe-Coburg Gotha). Queen Elizabeth chose not to take her husband's name (Mountbatten) for similar reasons (it was just after WWII and nationalism was a big deal).

The Prince of Wales title is not inherited nor automatically assumed. Traditionally the monarch gives it to the heir presumptive, but the monarch is not required to do such. Presumably, however, Charles will give the title to William once Charles becomes king. William could also be given other titles at the monarch's discretion. William's wife would be the female equivilent of her husband's titles.

No, because William's title is not Prince of Wales. If he is ever given that title (probably after Charles becomes King) then she would have the Princess of Wales title as his wife.

Currently, William has no titles in his own right, so Kate (or any woman he married) would not have any courtesy title unless the Queen gave her one.

The Royal Family don't have a surname as such, but they tend to use "Windsor" or "Wales". Harry and William were known as "Wales" during their Army training.

Prince William's future wife will assume any title that he has (ie. the female equivalent of...). However, he won't be Prince of Wales until his father no longer has that title and the title gets bestowed on him. If and when that happens, then yes his future wife would become the next Princess of Wales.

Actually, one of Camilla's titles is Princess of Wales - as much as they try and pretend it's not and call her the Duchess of Cornwall, legally as Charles' wife she is also Princess of Wales.

Anyone who married Prince William would take the female equivalent to his title. The Queen would probably give him a dukedom on his marriage so she would be Duchess of wherever the dukedom was off, of course when Charles inherited the throne William automatically becomes Duke of Cornwall but he has to be officially created Prince of Wales.

The royal familys last names are Windsor, and she wouldn't get any titles i do not think because William doesnt have any - when he becomes King, she will be Queen though, Camilla wont be because she has already been married and men who marry Queens do not get King status - confusin biznis reali
