I am a Christian, because I looked for years to find out where I wanted to be..and I finally found it...I cannot even describe to you the feelings of being a Christian has given me...the peace I feel, was worth all the looking I did.

I have NO religion.
I'm not into the hate or fear thing.
I see the lies of religion with the vision of God.
There was a man named Jesus that became enlightened by learning to love.
He taught that we had to be born of the spirit of love so we too could become creatures of love.
The Clergy twisted it into a story of virgin birth.
The message lives on, but not in the establishment.
You know those of love.
Those of love are one and come from all cultures.
We are the source of life and enlightenment.
We are the revolution.
We are you.

Mankind has been conditioned, for as long as mankind has painted to try and make the cut to heaven. So in my observation it's fear, fear of not making the cut and fear of going against the established religion of the time.

Most follow their religions out of fear of the unknown. Some of us don't require the services of the crutches called religion.

Comon sense actually. Humanism is a philosophy of life inspired by humanity and guided by reason. It provides the basis for a fulfilling and ethical life without religion.
Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values.
Humanists see no convincing evidence for gods, the supernatural, or life after death.
Humanists believe that moral values are properly founded on human empathy and scientific understanding.
Humanists believe we must live this life on the basis that it is the only life we'll have -- that, therefore, we must make the most of it for ourselves, each other, and our world.
Humanist philosophies have arisen separately in many different cultures over many thousands of years. Whether or not they use the term humanism, tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people around the world agree with the humanist philosophy of living a happy and productive life based on reason and compassion.

I follow my personal religion, because I like it and it speaks to my needs. I don't follow anybody else's religion.

I don't follow religion at all. Wait....I lied.....I put on my clothes every morning and I eat at traditional times. So I guess I can't get away from religion.
Follow Jesus? Well, cause since I'm one of His kids, if I don't Daddy will pop me one. :)
