If you look in the Bible, there are an amazing number of people that God wants his followers to murder. For example, in Exodus 35:2 God lays down this commandment:

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

Think about that how many people work on the Sabbath -- all the employees of Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Linnens & things, grocery stores, convenience stores, power plants, airlines, hospitals, emergency services and on and on and on. Don't rabbis, priests and preachers work on the Sabbath? God wants all of them dead.

What about this:

If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.
That's a lot of people who need to be killed.

Notice that believers completely ignore these parts of the Bible. That is because they know that the verses are insane.

Under Mosaic law the 7th day of the week was a time of rest for the Jewish people, however after Jesus was crucified the Dispensation of Law was completed and the Dispensation of Grace began. When the Gregorian calendar began to be used the 7th day of the week changed from Saturday, which is still the Jewish sabbath, to Sunday. God never charged his followers to murder but to cleanse their land and themselves of all ungodliness. If the results were death, the ungodly faced the judgement of a holy God who loves the sinner but hates the sin. This is why Christ came into the world, for the redemption of man. There is a saying that if one is born once (a physical birth) he will die twice, both physically and spiritually; however if one is born twice (physically and spiritually) he will only die once, physically. Read John 1:1-8 for a description of the rebirth.

There are several nuances here that you haven't picked up on.

First, the Mosaic Covenant never applied to Gentiles (non-Jews). So the Sabbath requirement doesn't apply to us.

Second, even if it did, Jesus' death nailed all of these commandments to the cross (Col. 2:14). So Messianic Jews are absolved.

Third, Jesus fulfilled the fourth commandment; HE is the "rest" promised by the Sabbath. Anyone who refuses Him dies, since they try to work for their salvation!

Fourth, the Mosaic Law provided exemptions for the Priests and Levites, as well as others, who had no choice but to work on the Sabbath. They were considered innocent of sin. Jesus reiterated this in the New Testament.

If ya want somethig to really frost ys, read Leviticus chapter 20 beginning about vers 31 or 32.

By the way, the New Testament cancelled the old laws...Ya saying police, firemen, emts Doctors and nurses should not work on "The Sabbath"....which by the way is Friday, not Sunday.

1) Those laws only apply to Jews.

2) We have a very precise definition of "work," and what Rabbis do on Shabbat doesn't meet that definition.

3) There are many other laws that were never meant to be followed literally, or only apply when in Israel when the Temple exists.

What is insane is you believing God was addressing anyone other than ancient Israel, who were the ones that entered into this covenant with God.

Nowhere does God command these things of the rest of mankind, or command the rest of mankind be killed for violating a covenant law they were never a party to.
