No, it certainly is not, nor are such words as 'theocracy' or 'organization' (much beloved of one group that attacks Christmas as if it was celebration of the devil himself). But the Bible tells us simple and clearly of the wonder of God's gift to us that dark night when Christ was born in a cattle shed; when angel choirs sang for joy, and amazed shepherds obediently searched out the child and fell on their knees in adoration at the manger. Whatever date Jesus was born, let us never lose that sense of wonder and gratitude, or judge others who chose to remember him, in whatever way, or on whatever date.

The word "Christmas" is a contraction meaning "Christ's mass." It is derived from the Middle English Christemasse and Old English Cristes mæsse, a phrase first recorded in 1038.
The date as a birthdate for Jesus is merely traditional, and is not widely considered to be his actual date of birth.

No. I have read the Bible over and over from cover to cover, from Genesis to Revelation, and have never found the word "christmas."
It is the birthdate of Jesus that is accepted and celebrated by the Church and the entire world.

Christmas came from Catholics, it literally means Christ - mass or Christ Death which makes no sense to me. The Bible makes no mention of Christmas and the one reference to Easter is a mistranslation of Passover. The early Christians had no holidays for Christmas or Easter. These holidays are of pagan origins that the Catholics wanted to override or overpower. The pagan goddess Astarte was a fertility religion celebrating spring, fertility and sexual freedom... and some of it's fertility symbols were colored eggs and bunnies. The pagan Romon god Saturnalia was practiced on Dec 25th and included gift giving and red and green colors. Old world pagans would deck trees with gold and silver then take them into their homes and worship them. This was strictly forbidden by God as idolotry.
The Catholics have done us the great disservice of taking pagan rites and putting the name of Christ upon them. Wiccans and pagans even thank the Catholics for preserving their religions.

It is simply a traditional date, agreed upon, to celebrate the Birth of Christ.
People want to celebrate Christ's birth, they don't know the exact date, but they have agreed on a date to celebrate it.
Some orthodox christianities do not celebrate it on December 25, they celebrate approximately 14 days later.
But now, christmas is purely commercial in the North American countries. People celebrate Santa more than Christ.

The word "Christmas" means "Mass of Christ," or "Christs mass".
"A feast was established in memory of this event (Christ's birth) in the fourth century. In the fifth century the Western Church ordered it to be celebrated forever on the day of the old Roman feast of the birth of Sol, as no certain knowledge of the day of Christ's birth existed."

Christmas isn't written in the bible. Rather, it's the combination of Christ and Mass, so it would literally mean "The mass of Christ".

Listen - Jesus was born - we don't have the exact date. We decide to worship Him and His birth on Dec 25th. It doesn't matter what the date is - the fact still remains that He was born and is alive today - at the right hand of the Father.
Christmas is not in the Bible.
