I'm starting to think that we need to find a new Pastor. He told us last Sunday that Jesus was Jewish.

How on earth does this make any sense? Obviously, Jesus was a Christian! Had he been Jewish, wouldn't his last name be Jew, instead of Christ? Duh!

Anyone else encounter this kind of stupidity in their church?

What was your response and attitude towards the friendly sales rep whose attutide changed when they realized you had no intention of buying anything? I don't go to those. I was talked into it twice and hated the experience, even though I was up front about having no intention of buying anything.

They believe this because they WANT to believe it. It is a form of positive thinking, and sometimes positive thinking works. But to attribute something to a God just because it went right is irrational, and seems a little crazy to the non-believer. And crazy people can be dangerous. Some Christians kill abortion doctors, commit suicide with their followers, attack those of a different sexual persuasion and go on gun rampages. Now most Christians don't do those things, but when they show irrational conduct, one cannot help but react as you react if you meet someone who is drunk or on drugs. It is the instinct for self-survival. The Christians could avoid this situation by keeping their explanation of their positive thinking to themselves. I suspect many are too stubborn and enjoy disturbing people with their eccentricity, so we are stuck with those who insist on thinking that "God" did it, and want to tell the world. But don't complain if people react and think you are dangerous!

I asked the following question:

So, if a Christian answers, "An Atheist" gives more thumbs down ratings...and an atheists answers, "A Christian" gives more thumbs down ratings...

How do Christians rate these answers?
How do Atheists do to rate these answers?

If you are an atheist and disagree with the Christian answer, do you:
1) Give the Christian answer a thumbs down (and end up shooting yourself in the foot and proving yourself wrong)
2) Give the Christian answer a thumbs up (even though you disagree, in order to try to prove your point)

And vice versa....etc, etc....???!!!

And how can I decide which is true based on the ratings of the answers?!

Just today, right now.....for me, it's a good man waiting at home for me, a good job with two terrific bosses, a good family although they're spread all over the country, and good friends that I can rely on. Most of all, I'm grateful that God called and I heard Him.

The phrase is "At least she wasn't reading the damn book."

I'd like to replace JUST the word "damn" with an equivalent Italian profanity.

Thank you!

If Allah is perfect could he have lesser sins? Would not any sin be too much sin? Could Allah being perfect say this sin is not as bad as another sin and remain perfect while having any degree of agreement with any sin? The true God of Abraham did not agree with any sin all sin is death it was the reason for tha sacrifices. God is all knowing and knew man could not live up to his righteousness and provided the only way for any man to be righteous through the price being paid by God. Salvation can not be earned as if God is indebted to his creation but is a free gift from a merciful God. Doesnt this show that God is more righteous and merciful than the Alah that Muhammad gives you? Would it not be a lesser god than the perfect God if someone tried to fake God?

"In a fairly typical case, a boy in Beirut spoke of being a 25-year-old mechanic, thrown to his death from a speeding car on a beach road. According to multiple witnesses, the boy provided the name of the driver, the exact location of the crash, the names of the mechanic's sisters and parents and cousins, and the people he went hunting with -- all of which turned out to match the life of a man who had died several years before the boy was born, and who had no apparent connection to the boy's family."

The full moon is a powerful image in folklore all over the world. It's said that the full moon can have a strange effect on us (It's where we get the term Lunatic after all)

Does anyone have any stories of strange and inexplicable behaviour by themselves or other people that just happened to coincide with the full moon? (prefereraby not stories about Werewolves, that's a different question in it'self!)

10 points for the most interesting story that doesn't involve Lycanthropy!

dont people think a lot about god for long time and finally adjust to a religion, and start defending and finally fighting for the religion they accepted ? and if a person is born in a faith, he is so much into it, that he thinks only his faith is right. and i think islam is worst among such faiths.

I have just read that they are planning to wed today, so should the nuptials follow Thrice's beliefs and be a secular, civil ceremony, or should they follow Bella's beliefs and be a traditional Christian wedding?

What gift should I bring to the wedding?
