What was your response and attitude towards the friendly sales rep whose attutide changed when they realized you had no intention of buying anything? I don't go to those. I was talked into it twice and hated the experience, even though I was up front about having no intention of buying anything.

I've been to one. When the salesperson realizes you aren't going to invest he gets someone "higher' up to come and talk and pressure you.
I hated the whole experience, well except for the free dinner and a show and a nice condo to stay in.lol

Absolutely, every chance I get to go to Las Vegas, room and board included, often with some chips included, a show included...and all it costs me is a 90 minute presentation ! Any old day of the week...but go with a very strong resolution...not to buy under any circumstance! Let's face it..if it were a bargain, they would not be giving away the store to get you into it! I smile, I listen, I actually go through the process of the individual sales pitch, then think, say "I have to discuss this with my business partner" ..and the saleman's face falls to the ground. They know this is a single shot deal, if you don't sign then and there, you ain't gonna sign...sort of like the aluminum siding sales pitch..then or never! But I still get my 3 days room and board! I get to see Las Vegas, have fun, and since LV is only about 4 hours away by car, I go every chance I get. Good luck and peace, Goldwing.

Just once, to Lawrence Welk village in Escondido, it was only 50 miles from home. My husband told the re agent that I had drug him there, she just laughed, she thought we might find something we liked.. We found the gorgeous buffet and stayed for the dance and met Lawrence Welk. I get calls all the time with offers, I just hang up.

I've never gone on one of those vacations, but one time a co-worker/acquaintance invited my husband and I over for dinner (and here's me thinking, "Oh good! I don't have to cook!") So we arrive at their house with a bottle of wine, only to find out that their religion does not permit them to consume alcoholic beverages. What's worse is, we inadvertently became their captive audience for a three hour pitch on Amway products. I think I would've rather cooked.

yes...we went to one a few years ago,in Florida. I did NOT like their hard sell...won't take no for an answer attitude...very uncomfortable for me! My fiance was actually thinking of going for it when I knew darn well we couldn't afford it & I am so glad I talked him out of it because we have since broken up. And the "breakfast" buffet that they served to us wasn't "all that" either! I will NEVER be suckered into that type of situation again!!!

My husband and I went to some place in the Blue Ridge
for a weekend, and it turned out to be selling timeshares.
When we said we weren't interested, they got really angry
and rude. The high-pressure sales turned us off. We won't do that again!

i tell them upfront that i am only there for the free whatever, and the information that they the company sent says it only takes example 90 minutes, i set a timer and show it to the salesperson and tell them talk you have 90 min. when timer goes off i tell them thank you and goodbye. that way i have done what was required of me.

most of the time they took no and left us alone but this last time after having to deal with a third person I told them off and got up and left-this person was extremely rude and when I was called to find out how i liked it I let them know. they sent me a $50.00 gift certificate.

Never been to one of those. I believe it would be dishonest to take advantage of this sort of situation if you were just along for the free ride.
