How do we know that God isn't the evil one, promising eternal love & lying convincingly to congregations of churchgoers, to steer us from Satan? What if Satan was really the good guy, sitting back & letting us use our free will to see if we fall for God's lies??

Michael Vick comes to mind today. Paris Hilton, and an endless stream of human garbage claim, after the fact, that they have found Him. After they have been caught and have to make some kind of damage control.

If there is a Jesus, how do you think He feels about his name being used to salvage their public image?

First of all thanks to the Christians/Atheists/Agnostics etc who have answered my questions

I was wondering what you all think of the following theory:

If you hold to the premise that Jesus, Moses, Abraham etc were real people (there is reasonable evidence for this) - could their visions/experiences of 'talking to god' could have been as a result of a condition like Temporal Lobe Epilepsy or Schizophrenia, both of which are characterised by the inducement of hallucinations (visual, auditory etc)

There are examples through history where symptoms of neurological/mental illness has been mistaken for possession etc

The lady who founded the seventh day adventists had classic signs of TLE for example.

Stimulation of the temporal lobes in a controlled setting results in induced hallucinations relevant to ones beliefs

Were these prophets suffering from mental illness/ hallucinations that manifested itself in forms relevant to their beliefs?

Salvation is a free gift, no strings attached...
Then why do people think its harder to get to heaven???
Is it the logic thing that feels it should work for salvation?
If so would you agree that aspect of life is the very thing all beleivers have to overcome
to get some reassurance?

i read this question and some answers and then i read an answer where some one said " some people die while having sex"!
is this true or did he just say it to say it????? if it is true. then how do people die during it??? i don't get it. yet there are alot of things in this world i don't get.
