It is wrong to use the word "steal" in such a case. The most important factor is "starving family".So to make available, food for starving family is not sin, whatever way you do it.Stealing food for starving does not hurt human.Feeding
a starving family is a more generous act than the act of stealing the food.It cannot be called a sin.The Moral laws and
Constitutional laws have to be evaluated. We are misled.

It is a sin to steal no matter what the purpose. If you want to feed a starving family you can provide from your own food or purchase food for them. I would recommend you pray for them because God does care and He will find a way if it is in His will.

If you have exercised every other option available, then there may be some leeway. And believe me, there are plenty of places to get a free meal, without having to resort to stealing. I can't think right now of a specific Bible reference that would say it is okay, though.

At least one reference to 'misappropriating' food to feed a starving group was David, who convinced a priest to give him consecrated bread to feed him and his men while they fled from King Saul. Of course, David also did a lot of unsavory things in his life, and God let it go.

There is also scripture that commands Christians to be charitable with what they have. So the man with plenty who refuses to give to the starving family is just as much a sinner as the poor man who steals from him to feed his starving family.

God knows the intent of your heart and the situation, I don't.

Your local church should have food stored for starving families. This is the church's job. Contact a local church for help for this family. Pride is a sin. If you are too prideful to ask for help, then you have committed 2 sins by stealing. We all need a little help every now and then.

Who cares if it is a sin. It is certainly illegal. But sometimes we do things we have to do and then throw ourselves on the mercy of the court. (I guess you can do this to God, if you are so inclined).

Anyway, if one did that they should be ready to make amends for their transgressions.

I had a roommate in college who was kind of an oddball and often had no money for food. He was getting money from SS because his dad had died but he often was late filling out the paperwork so the money was late. He'd borrow from acquaintances for a while until he felt bad about doing that. Sometimes he'd steal from the campus grocery store. But he kept track of what he stole and when his check came, he'd go to the store, buy all the things he had stolen and sneak back into the store with the stuff and put the food back.

It was an odd sort of morality, but I guess it worked.

Just the first half of your question would be a sin: "is it a sin to STEAL..." But feeding a starving family is good.

God said "ask and I will provide."

I doubt, Freddy, that your family is starving. Anyway I can say nothing other than what is written in the Gospel. It is a sin nevertheless. In the Bible is written: " You will not see the righteous in need and his children begging for alms." God wants to care for the poor and it is a bad church where is no care for the poor.

If we are speaking a society with a iron clad forged equipment which condemns human beings to dying via starvation then no. If the boy has a raffle to artwork to earn the money for the nutrition or if there is help available that's not used then, particular that's a sin to thieve nutrition.

Yes.
Prov 6:30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals To satisfy himself when he is hungry; 31 But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold; He must give all the substance of his house.
