Salvation is a free gift, no strings attached...
Then why do people think its harder to get to heaven???
Is it the logic thing that feels it should work for salvation?
If so would you agree that aspect of life is the very thing all beleivers have to overcome
to get some reassurance?

Satan i understand is our worst enemy when it comes to salvation.
He attacks our faith daily.
But we cannot stand alone aginst him,
so really our salvation is the work of god.
Shaping our lives for victory while we are
here, so really dilligence is simply applying the faith.

It's bad teaching together with the one factor so many forget about – the influence of Satan.

Every religion except bible-based Christianity teaches that you've got to work your butt off to be worthy. That includes the Catholic doctrine that you've got to do good works to get to heaven.

All the while, Satan is doing his best to lay a guilt trip on us, trying to convince us that we're not worthy (which is true). It's the remedy that's false – you've just got to try harder.

Reassurance comes from one thing and one thing only – FAITH! If you don't have faith how can you believe in the gift of salvation? It's interesting to note that faith carries it's own rewards in heaven and is looked upon by God as that which deserves the highest reward.

To be saved we have to believe that Christ has saved us from our sins and we don't have to work for that salvation our 'good works' just come naturally because we are thatnkful to God for saving us. Salvation is a free gift which we definatly do not deserve.

People say it is harder to get to heaven because they think that living a life full of sin is a lot easier than avoiding sin which is what we Christians believe. But the consequences of our actions are what we have to live with in the after life.

So what is it for you? Heaven or Hell?

MP,
In answering your question I must first point out that in the Judgment there will be those who believed they were acting in the name of GOD and were not. They will be bound to hell. You say that "Salvation is a free gift, no strings attached" but we are told to "continue to be faithful until death" in Revelation 2:10. This sounds like it takes some diligence. We are also told that attaining heaven will NOT be an easy task in the Bible. I would say that satan's influence in this world will keep most people out of heaven and that you are not right in your opening statement. Have a nice day and a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

Esther's answer (above) is another reminder of this...

you started with "christians please"...so I'm assuming you are a believer. Remember that we were born with sin in our lives, into a world full of more sin. From that first breath we've been taking in evil. That sounds so "fantasy", but I'm talking about things like selfishness, jealousy, gluttony...you know, when you're a little kid it's generally all about you:) Anyhow, the moment we accept that free gift, we are given the Holy Spirit. Now we have God with us daily, opening our eyes to the fact that "hey, that's selfishness, not just me trying to get the biggest slice of cake..." it sometimes is overwhelming to think about how much our lives resemble something other than our new Father. He is perfect and holy...and truly being His child, truly loving & wanting to please Him means making alot of difficult choices-difficult b/c they go against everything we're told about putting ourselves first. Maybe you've been offered a big promotion, but you feel God is telling you to go back to school & pursue another career...you are faced with the decision-will I take a "leap of faith" or not? And that's so hard! Do you know the story about the rich man trying to enter heaven? It's in the gospels (i think all of them); he came to Jesus & said "I have embraced the ten commandments since I was a youth, I have followed you faithfully...now what much I do to enter the kingdom of God?" Jesus told him "sell your possessions and give the money to the poor & you will have treasure in heaven. And then come, follow me." It goes on to say that the man walked away sad, b/c he had so many things & was so rich that he couldn't bear to give those things up. Now I don't think this means you should go out & sell your house or anything, but again it goes back to the fact that loving God means you stop being #1. And there isn't much in the world today that backs that up. It can lead to alot of lone ranger feelings if you aren't connected with a solid group of believers in church or elsewhere. Essentially I'm saying that I believe a life that follows God is much more challenging, much more alive, and much riskier than a life that I could run myself.
I guess it all depends on how you look at it.

I don't know what your trying to say, but the hard thing is we do not really know what heaven or hell are like. The bible is rather mute on the subject and our popular believe comes from post apostle writers. From what I have read in the gospels, I see Hell not as the boiling fire pit of torture and despair but rather like a concentration camp where we go when we cannot go to heaven.

Jesus said, My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Unbelievers carry a heavy burden of sin. Alcohol alone is a heavy burden. It takes its toll on the entire family. Drugs are the same. Excessive gambling the same.

When you turn your life over to Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes in and starts purifying and refining you. You come just as you are and you change. There is no peace like the peace from knowing the Lord.

As the good book says, it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than a camel going through the eye of a needle.

Either way is pretty easy. Love Christ, go to Heaven. Love Satan, go to hell.

i think to get 2 heaven u dont hav 2 be a nun or never swear, i think that if inside u no u're a gd person, u will go 2 heaven

so 2 go 2 hell, it's like u can't be saved from ureslf. u're already 2 bad so its harder 2 go 2 hell..

i dont even think heaven or hell exist i think they r a comfort 4 us so we're not scared of death.
