To anyone who believes they "have no sin" and do not believe in God of course the Gospel is not going to be good news to them. If it is good news to you that you are going nowhere when you die then I respect your right to believe that. But, do you really think that is Good News?

Is it Good News if all the Chrisitans go away and all the churches close down? if so why, what is your reason? What have Christians ever done to you? Specifically I mean.

I can tell you what non-Christians did for me, they led me down a lot of paths that did not help me in life. I can remember being a victim of violent crime, being sent to a Free counselling place where lesbians hit on me and no answers were given to heal me. Jesus healed me not man. Although I did try every path "man" had to offer in the way of comfort and healing. See my belief is based on personal exp.

My only hope is anyone who comes here, will not make their decision about whether God exists, based on what they experience at RS

The reason why I ask is because of some of the things I'm seeing people say about Christians as if it's a general thing.

If it were a choice y would there be an initial feel of shame. Y would people chose to be something and then try to hide. So it must not be a choice. It must be something that is predetermined. If it is predetermined, then that means god made them that way. And since god is infallible then being gay can't be wrong.

For example murder, stealing, sexual immorality, drunkedness, and homosexuality are listed as sins that will send you to hell. Why is it that some people, Bible beleiving people, wish to exclude some of these sins as being bad?

I know not all Christians takes Proverbs literally to mean the "rod of discipline" is an actual ROD to hit a child with. But some, like my neighbour actually do.

Now as a mother of three, one in college, one graduating this year and another in Junior High, I know from experience that sometimes a toddler may need a little tap on the wrist from time to time. If anything it is more to get their attention and get them to instantly change behavior when necessary. However, this is a "quick fix" solution because at that age, they cannot reason yet.

What is far harder is getting your child to respect you and learn to trust that you know best, you dictate and their are repercussions for their actions that go beyond just getting spanked. I feel around four-five, they can grasp these things.

If by pre-puberty are STILL hitting your child, harder and with instruments to get them to listen and respect you, something is OBVIOUSLY wrong isn't it?

What would you say if the child that was going to be born was not going to be brought up in the way of the Lord, which would mean that the child would probably not go to Heaven and would have a horrible life due to the lifestyle of the child's parents? It is a sin to murder an unborn child and it is also a sin to bring a child into this world and not bring that child upin the way of the Lord. If the child is killed in the womb it will go straight to Heaven. Either way the God will hold the parents responsible for the child's life. Your opinions please?

love the sinner, hate the sin comes to my mind... I think many believe shaming is a loving act. Shaming might save someone from themself. Is it okay to shame an alcoholic or a drug addict? Is it okay to shame a fat person? What do you think about this?

If dinosaurs and people co-existed y arent there any cave drawings of them. Don't you think it would be more important to document the big animal that keeps eating all your friends than a mamoth. Just sayin.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 – "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."

According to this, women can teach me nothing! I am a male, so please listen to me and keep your mouths shut. That is, unless you want to "sin" and go to hell! What a crock!

This verse talks about women keeping quiet in church. I guess God finds your opinions and thoughts to be worthless:

1 Corinthians 14:33-35 - "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."

Let me guess..... I am taking these out of context? I think not. These verses are VERY clear. You worship someone that thinks you are not worthy to speak.

Can you please explain what this verse means???
Thanks!

i get a kick out of all the "righteous", "spiritual" "Christians" out there who condemn gays, who say that WE'RE the sinners, going to hell, etc, yet they don't seem to have an issue with their holy leaders molesting children and covering it up. shame on Cardinal Law and all the others who protected those pedophiles!

For religious people:

Why do you believe in religion and God and all the religious texts?
Is it because you are lured by the promise of all the good things that you will get in this lifetime as well as your afterlife time? Is it out of greed?

Is it because you are a weak-willed person so you think you need "guidance"?

Tell me -------- WHY DO YOU BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU BELIEVE?
And if one day, it is proven that your God does not exist, will you turn against and accuse this religion which you have placed so much faith in and got nothing out of it?

For atheists:

Why do you choose to believe there is no God? WHY?

WHY DO YOU STRONGLY BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU BELIEVE??? WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE? WHAT LEADS YOU TO BELIEVE?

Atoms (what EVERYTHING is made of) is made of particles and those particles are made of strings according to String Theory. The different particles and thusly atoms are due to the different vibrations of the strings. However we are all made of the infinitessimally small strings. You could conclude that since everything is made of strings then all strings had to originate from the same source. But what are strings? Well they exist in (I believe) 15 dimensions while we only exist in 4 and they are bands of energy. Thus, strings had to come from something that exists in more than 4 dimensions (In other words, beyond the dimension of time) and is of a more energy nature and not so physical as we are. Isnt this how God is described? As an energy (dare I say, a source of energy) and being outside the realm or bounds of time. According to ST, the Big Bang occurred when two membranes bumped each other. What (or who) made the membranes?
