To anyone who believes they "have no sin" and do not believe in God of course the Gospel is not going to be good news to them. If it is good news to you that you are going nowhere when you die then I respect your right to believe that. But, do you really think that is Good News?
Is it Good News if all the Chrisitans go away and all the churches close down? if so why, what is your reason? What have Christians ever done to you? Specifically I mean.
I can tell you what non-Christians did for me, they led me down a lot of paths that did not help me in life. I can remember being a victim of violent crime, being sent to a Free counselling place where lesbians hit on me and no answers were given to heal me. Jesus healed me not man. Although I did try every path "man" had to offer in the way of comfort and healing. See my belief is based on personal exp.
My only hope is anyone who comes here, will not make their decision about whether God exists, based on what they experience at RS

Isaiah 61
The Good News of Salvation
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

The gospel is not good news to everyone, only to the elect. In fact, it is only meant for the elect, as a converting ordinance of salvation.
For everyone else, it's not so good news.

As an atheist, I try not to convince anyone that god doesn't exist. (even though I know better). What I tell them is to question their beliefs. Question what they are being told by others. If the church has no answers, then seek answers elsewhere. However, I know that there are people out there that need to feel that there is more. They are down, and the church and its community can help them with their problems. It gives them some kind of hope.

I respect your views and your path, and that you say you hold the same respect for others... but you still seem dismissive and bitter of others' ways (all paths are "mans'" ways as you use the term).
I advise you to let go of your bitterness; only a few non-Christians created the negative experiences you hint at. I know of plenty of cases where Christians did some nasty things themselves. It's not about what label one uses, but how one comports oneself.

It is a good thing, finding a place of safety. I just mentioned that to a friend. It is like breathing, and then just realizing that you had been holding your breath.
I clung to that safe place a long time, just breathing, and for a long time it was enough. Then, slowly, hope came. Everything I am now is based on one small act of courage.
If you have found a good path, then I am happy for you. I'll let that be my good news for today. Good luck Sisterzeal.

For me the good news is that no matter how wrong all these different guys all around the world are (since they all disagree with each other), everyone is, nonetheless, seemingly inspired by something bigger and greater than this great, big universe!

Yes, it's VERY good news. Just to know that Jesus lives and loves us SO much, is a blessing to every moment of my life.

Oh sure. I remember just how overjoyed I was as a child to learn that people worshiped a god that felt I should burn in hell for eternity for my heinous crimes, such as swiping some change from my sister's piggy-bank.
And it was especially moving for me to learn that the same god was appeased by human sacrifice, and wants us to remember that act by engaging in ritual cannibalism.
