I have seen this happening to two people that I am well acquainted with.
Both are real cavemen hunter types with high levels of testosterone and both are aware of the effect a full moon has on them - both are very active and energetic in normal day to day life always striving to be the top alpha male this behaviour notches up a gear or two when a full moon is up.
They feel driven at this time to 'perform' above and beyond the call of duty an 'all nighter' being par for the course - something even they are at a loss to explain as (by there own admittance) they are both multi 3 minute men.
One of them genuinely howls at the moon and has done so for as long as he can recall - he says he finds great comfort/relief in doing this.
Genuine story and without a sniff of a lycanthrope.

Hi there. Well, I DO know that it's a fact that the moon affects the gravitational pull here on earth and also affects the tides of the ocean. ( NEAT !!!) I also know that more babies ARE born during a full moon for the same reason. The gravitational pull of the moon affects the "water", so-to-speak, of the mother and is the reason it happens. (And when I say water, I mean the amniotic fluid that the baby is in.) As for LUNATICS, well I don't know. My sis is a psychologist and I'll have to ask her more on that one. I'm sure she'll have some juicy stories about it for me.God bless you guys. I hope this helps you.

i am sorry my friend. But the moon was not full last night. The full moon is tonight...Aug. 28/07....that's a fact. And yes, the full moon does and can affect peoples behavior. Especially the elderly....They can act very odd to say the least on the night of a full moon. I should know, i have worked in a nursing home. Some growl, some moan and others scream uncontrollably; and when there is no full moon we get none of that.

This sounds crazy but check with people who work in hospitals or ERs and see what they have to say about the full moon. I used to work in the O.R., and we had some pretty crazy cases occur during the full moon. Even now in the doctor's office I work in, people are more nasty, beligerant and just down right mean at those times.
My mother used to work in an all night restaurant, and the crazies came out on the full moon more so than other nights.

I felt strangely calmed by the presence of the full moon. We'd had a rotten day and suddenly seeing the beautiful moon in the sky made me feel so much better. It's always worth making a wish when the moon is full.

I knew a gentleman who felt weak and sick whenever there was a full moon. This was aggravated after he had a stroke about 15 years ago. Every month he would spend 2 or 3 days in bed because he became so weak. This always coincided with the full moon.

well, I can tell you that everytime that there is a full moon, my husbands behavior is so erratic. I believe that he becomes another person. Turns from nice to mean in a second. For instance we can be talking about something normal and then all of a sudden his face changes and he automatically starts yelling and screaming because he thinks he is always right. No matter the discussion. LoL maybe all men are like that. Always thinking there right whether their is a full moon or not.

Definitely. All the stuff people have said about water, bars, mental hospitals and emergency rooms goes, too. However, I used to go to boarding school with a kid who acted mental when there was a full moon, but was fine the rest of the time. Also the passion seems to flow better if you know what I mean (and I don't mean literally!) - it's like magic. =oD

The moon is not the only thing in the galaxy that affect us but planets in the solar system as well. But it affects us strongly because of its gravitational pull, we are all but made up of water, so it stands to reason we go funny during a full moon.
I work within the public service and can tell you that our services are used more frequently during a full moon.

I don't have personal stories but have heard that during full moons emergency rooms are busier, the same for police calls and have often heard teachers remark about it. The word "lunatic" is derived from "Luna" or moon, and is attributed to a worsening of behavior during the full moon.
I have not seen any statistics to back this up.
