I have heard that money is the root of all evil, but I think religion and the desire for power is actually the true evil root.

Think about it....I although churches want our money, what they are really after is our soul and submission to their beliefs.

So yes or no.....is religion really the true root of evil?

My son is going to be baptised (Catholic ceremony) and I am wondering if it's expected/tradition to give the Godparents something as a gift/thank you. If so, what do you suggest?

Thanks!

I'm the president of my high school club and want to use icebreakers to help everyone get to know each other better this year. However, a lot of our members are like, "What? Icebreakers? How totally lame. They're so corny and boring." etc.
So I'd like to hear some unique ideas that you may have--not the typical ones, like Telephone, Scavenger Bingo, the Knot (although that is an awesome game, but our members are kinda touchy about touching), and the like. So what ideas do you have? Short ones that take up no more than 5-10 minutes is preferable, but go ahead and suggest any length type if you want.

Or at least it should. I had 671 before.

My question: What denomination of Protestant tends to be the most ? What about Catholics, can they be as well?

woud you exhibit some senselessness by going to the bar to attack the bar's innocent and faithful patrons who truly enjoy their spirits in their haven of choice?

Why would you not stick to your territory where there's no interesting talk about positive future expectations and the hope of seeing the destruction of wicked evil enemies?

I can detect a presence wherever I go but I get chills down my spine and I cannot tell if I am around good spirits or bad spirits. I often talk to spirits but no harm done throughout the 12 years I talked to them. Can anyone tell me what can I do to detect the good from the bad? Is it worth it to find out or just continue doing what I always was doing, chatting with them. The only thing is when I chat with them, they do not say much, they just call my name and ask me who am I am if I live nearby.
Can anybody help?

I learned that I am going straight to hell because I am evil and consort with demons and the devil. The best part is that I am not even aware of doing it because I am blind.

1. Biblical Law. Matthew 5:17-18 says quite clearly that Jesus demands Christians follow Old Testament law completely, to the smallest possible point. Why don’t they?

2. Infanticide. The modern Christian churches of the world tend to gloss the fact that God is a child killer—the 10th plague in Egypt—and say that Jesus set this right. Ignoring for a moment that the crucifixion is just one more child killing to fulfill God’s will, why does Jesus say he also will kill children in Revelation 2:23?

3. Fact or Allegory. The Bible says the Earth is between 6,000 and 8,000 years old, that it was created in 7 days, and that Man is made of dirt and Woman a piece of Man. Most churches today say that this is allegory. What passages of the Bible support it all being just allegory?

4. Needle’s Eye. Jesus said rich men don’t go to Heaven easily and even implied that it wasn’t possible. Why are so many people with money and property Christian?

con*tent:
adjective - in a state of peaceful happiness
noun - a state of satisfaction

Can Satan be content *AND* jealous of God? Can Satan be content *and* want to unseat God?

Is jealousy possible if one is 100% content?

I ask because people in my last question tried to say that Satan was 100% content and jealous of God. This is impossible if you understand the definitions of both words. If Satan wanted to be God, then he was not in a "a state of satisfaction".

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkTlqsFdostR70b.h4mZGRfsy6IX?qid=20070821150304AAKMVlc

So, true or false: At the time of the revolt, and as evidenced by his jealousy and pride, Satan was not 100% content with his existence in Heaven.

Why do I feel bad for not being to this guy? i wish i was into him so I could stop feeling guilty for not sharing the smae feelings for him. I don't get butterfly's and extremely nervous around him so that's how I know I'm not into him.

What's up with this? Why do I feel guilty. UGH!

AND, If you DO get butterlfly's and nervous around a guy is this a good thing? Or, not?

More importantly, how many of them were based on content? (I can give you at least two big ones, but I've never counted all of them)

Whenever someone asks about the 4000 changes in the BoM, people are quick to respond with "they were grammatical changes." I agree that most of them (probably at lest 3500 of them) were of this variety, but it seems that "grammar" is an oft-used scapegoat to deflect inquiry regarding more substantial changes.

Can anyone provide a number? Or maybe a list?

Disclaimer: This is a truth-seeking question. I actually DO want to know. Please refrain from posting the following:

"You are ignorant"
"Find something better to do"
"Go to lds.org: it has all the answers you're looking for"
"You should only listen to mormons because nobody else really knows"

All answers are appreciated, especially those with links or sources. Thank you, and kindest regards to all.
