I did once. A friend took me to a "holy roller" church - and a woman was doing it. It seemed real. After church she was eating cookies and sipping tea with the rest of us - as if nothing had happened. She seemed somewhat introverted and not like somebody who would want to draw attention to herself. Although my friend believed that it was absolutely real - I never knew whether it was real or not. And actually - I'd forgotten all about it until today when I saw another post about speaking in tongues.

What's the purpose of speaking in tongues? Why do people do it? Do you think it's real - or a bunch of bunk?

I can! It's wonderful!
If you can't feel Him, why not? Have you done lots of sins in the past? Or are you a blasphemer?

When a girl at the gym is dressed provacatively, but you resist the temptation to gawk at her and or make lewd coments and give her the space she needs, even if she does look at you or try to benear you.Is it considered weak in this day and age?

I am talking about that deep dark little secret that no one knows about. The one that you think even God won't know about unless you tell Him.

I want to provide you with my interpretation of "secret sin" so everyone will understand the question.I know we all fail at times but thats not what this question is about.I have a little testimony here.I used to go into my prayer closet, knell down and pray.O I was so pious!I would pray long prayers, but there was some things that I didn't want to talk about with God.I really thought I could hide them.I wasn't trying to be a hypocrite. Its just that I was so ashamed of them. Please answer this question even if it no longer applies to you.

In a way that they can understand so that they can get rid of the misconseptions from their minds as well as explain the importance of The Blessed Virgin Mary to the Catholic Church and faith? I'm pretty new to the religion and I will be starting my RCIA courses for Communion and Confirmation on the 23rd of next month.

Let’s try one based loosely on reality.

You’re stuck next to me on a transatlantic flight. For the most part I’ve got my nose in PNAS (Proceedings from the National Academy of Sciences), Nature, the JBC (Journal of Biological Chemistry) or I’m taking a nap. When the beverage cart comes I get coffee (if it is decent) or tonic with a wedge of lime. I probably avoid the in flight “meal”.

About two months ago, I posted a question asking if anyone had any spells or prayers to help them get pregnant. Well, I went digging through my books and came up with a spell myself. It worked! My fiance and I just found out yesterday that we're pregnant! So, now I have this question:
Does anyone have any spells or prayers to help protect my unborn child, to ensure a safe pregnancy, and to help prepare myself and my home for the arrival of the new baby? Any just common sense tips are welcome, too. This is my first pregnancy, so I'm a ball of nerves at the moment. Thanks in advance and blessed be!

And all hebrews?

Wouldnt this prove the bible wrong? This is why Hitler tryed too do it and muslims are trying too as we speak.

Of course I know that 2/3's of it will be destroyed when the end comes.. But then the King will come back on a white warhorse. 8)

So many people preach. does the religion order (command) it? like will you go to hell if you dont preach and just let the people find out them selves.

I have a cousin (24 yrs) born christian. whenever his moms family preached to him (islamic) he hated it. But when he was 20 he studied different religions and just decided for himself that he wanted to be muslim.

so why cant we just leave everyone to learn for themselves? in many cases, we're making them hate the religion we preach because we're forcing it on them.

In my opinion, acceptanc is the first step to peace, even in this small (ahem) world of the internet, where we try to convert little bobble headed avatars.

Whats your opinion.

PS: it might sound like it, but im not a hater of any religion. ive accepted most things. what i havent accepted i ignore.

please dont report by this question. if you find it insulting, email me and ill delete it voluntarily. as long as its a valid reason.

...in Heaven?

There is at least one recorded entity unhappy with existence in Heaven. This suggest that no matter how awesome heaven is, it hasn't pleased all its residents.

Since it is impossible to know what Heaven is like, shouldn't we acknowledge the possibility that existence in Heaven could disappoint?

According to theists, the reason god doesn't appear to the world is because this sort of proof of his/her/its existence would cause most (if not all) people to believe in him/her/it for rational, logical reasons, as opposed to faith. God wants faith.

Coincidentally, the theist's strength comes from their devotion to that belief which can't be proven (faith.) Greater doubt requires ever greater faith, which equates to ever greater devotion, and so on.

The more you attack the belief, the more faith they employ, which then reinforces their perceived worth in the eyes of their creator, which results in a self-feeding cycle. In essence, trying to free them from the delusion feeds into their resolve to remain deluded. Their "reward" for giving into the delusion is an ever strengthening belief that the delusion is both real, and rewarding.

In a very real sense, there is no way to prove that this faith is anything more than an elaborate mind-game, similar in ways to a drug addiction.

These are two different words in two different languages.

First is hebrew, second is arabic and or aramaic.

My question is linguistic of nature.

I know the word 'Allaah' does not have any plurals or male or female versions (Arabic has words that have gender like French does)

Is the word 'Yahweh' a same form of the word? without plurals or gender versions?

Thank you
