It is true that this earth and humankind do have such amazing potential that it saddens me also that it has deteriorated to the condition it is in today. The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1Â John 5:19) This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. Another reason is that sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9)
The situation is not hopeless, however. The kingdom many of us have prayed for so long will be established here on earth. That kingdom, God's kingdom, will wipe out all wickedness and suffering and will stand forever. (Revelation 21:3-5, Daniel 2:44)

because there is a multitude of different opinions as to what a 'wonderful place' is.
some people think that having women completely covered up constitutes a wonderful place, others think the opposite. some people think that capitalism is the way to go, others think it's socialism.
until people stop having opinions about what is 'wonderful' then there will be wars.
