The first thing i thought, was bush did it, i knew he loves war just like his father. I was almost certain those planes were under remote control by bush, and thermite and expolosives brought down the towers, in the afternoon i was positive a missle hit the pentagon and it was the us government and us military

I have realised how much i love the people on YA and want to thank all of you. I have spread enough hatred on the R&S section and want to sincerely say sorry for that. It goes against my very principles.... so lets say we start loving each other for once! No matter what we believe in... set aside all our differences and spread some LOVE!

PEACE ya'll...

This is not meant to be a judgemental question. It has been something that I have honestly been thinking about for quite a while and have not found an answer.

To explain: awhile ago I saw a woman is a full burka with everything covered, even her hands. Her husband was wearing a tight polo shirt and designer jeans. I just didn't understand how the man could wear "western clothes" that weren't too modest and the woman was covered from head to toe.

I would appreciate any real and honest insights into why muslim men don't veil or at least wear traditional clothes when their wife is in full burka.

Thank you. Please no hate- this is a legitimate question.

I am in the middle of reading the bible. I mean, I've read verses, passages before, but this time I'm actually reading it all the way through. So, do you think it's harmful if I read the Koran, or other religious books? I mean, they're about God right? So even though other books may have a different view, there must be some good things I could gather from them right? But, would the public library have the Koran or the Torah? I really don't know how to get a hold of this stuff, but I want to further my religious learning and my relationship with God. Can anyone help?

1. Do you think he represents your religion well or lets you guys down?

2. Do you like his music?

3.Do you think he is going to refrain from sex until he marries for the third time, since he loves the ladies?lol

Are you actually blaming him for you being born into this world?

Or possibly that your not perfect and keep screwing up?

It wasn't me, God did it. Whatever :)

and the bible says that a day is as 1000 years with God and it has been about 6000 years(or 6 days) since Adam & Eve and on the 7th day he rested and Jesus is supposed to return and set up his Kingdom of peace on Earth for 1000 years. If you look at how this is going wouldn't you agree that his return is near?

Why do some believers constantly try to force their ideas upon people? I didnt say anything anti-religious, but some chose to shout me down. I was only asking for opinions for my question. Not a religious arguement.

I feel like i am going to be out numbered i am sure the priest is going to take his side. I love my bf and all, but i dunno if want to convert. i told him that i would go to church with him and the kids if he wants but converting i dunno about. he also said since i am no religion it would be better if i was one.

Neil deGrasse Tyson wrote an outstanding article called "The Perimeter of Ignorance" about how great scientists throughout history have only invoked God once they reached the limits of their knowledge. The interesting thing is, as the limits of knowledge expand, the next great scientist goes that much further before he invokes God.

It's a fantastic read. But I find myself asking: Is this too sophisticated for the Y!A community? Will they get it? Will they even try?

In an effort to be more respectful to Christians and believers, I'm doing my best to balance my sarcasm and cynicism with kind remarks. Unfortunately, I find a few people harshing that mellow.

"not sure where the comedy comes in? sounds like r&s, where most of the contributors are neither...

can't keep the non-believers out because it would be politically incorrect, so of course this is a forum for whatever."

Why is that necessary?

If anyone complains about my decision to post this question, I want to make it clear that it's important to point out the rude comments. It serves multiple purposes, but mostly, it calls out the people who make comments like this.

I encourage anyone to call out anything I've said that is hateful or rude. Mind you, don't ask me to stop being sarcastic and cynical. Those are personality traits. But hatefulness or rudeness is what kills the fun here.

I have a friend who lives on the west coast. She's had it pretty bad in a very racist town (whites of course) since she's moved there but she did get baptized several years ago. She has children and saw that many children in the congregation were behaving ungodly so she tried talking to the parents but the parents obviously didn't care; hence that's where the kids got their ungodly behavior from the parents. So she finally, after going to the elders and attempting to have a meeting with the ill-mannered witnesses, stopped the association between her kids and the bad seeds.

Now the bad kids and their parents call and harass her, say racial slurs, gossip and spread lies/false rumors about her and when she tried to talk to the elders about it, one yelled at her and told her not to ever call him again. Now, needless to say, she does not attend that lily-white congregation anymore and has asked the society in New York for help. Most witnesses are bringing badness to the organization.

Everyone always cares so much about what happens to us when we die... I guess being an atheist I don't care that much... I just think that's the end... However nobody ever really wonders what we were before we were born....

So my question is...

What were we before we were born? Nothing... non-existant... a tree... a different person....

What do you think we were??

I like the tree idea! ;)

as many as 1 in 1500 babies are born "intersex", that is no discernable gender. many times, doctors, sometimes with parent's permission, have just assigned a gender, in an attempt to give the child in question a "normal" life. surgery is done in many of these cases to complete the picture. many times the assignment is wrong. later in life, this decision is going to cause a person to be viewed as a homosexual, when in fact, they were given a wrong diagnosis.

my question is:

what would your religion say about something of this nature?

i mean, 1 in 1500 of our population, maybe more, have faced this. that's quite a few people affected.

how many have you judged?

We as Christians are the ones that got to be careful what we say because WE have the knowledge. Insulting a non-believer is just pushing them away. And when you push people away from God, YOU have the chance of losing approval from God!
We are to use love. We are not suppose to attack each other but try to reason with non-believers!
Non-believers are easier to be forgiven by God because they don't know, but WE as christians know what we are doing. And doing something that we know is wrong (like insulting others) is what makes it a sin!
