Why do some believers constantly try to force their ideas upon people? I didnt say anything anti-religious, but some chose to shout me down. I was only asking for opinions for my question. Not a religious arguement.

and you asked in the correct category. Dang, those evil Christians are everywhere! Sheesh. I liked the guy who answered with "even time began" when the big bang began. I think it is wrong to give a religious answer in another category. It is very bad taste to say the least.

I think that many of us (believers) can take things the wrong way we get so many people attacking what we believe and yelling at us that we are all morons. That is why many tend to over react when someone asks a question regarding things than could be seen from a religious point of view. I honestly think they do far more harm than good. One should explain their answer and not just yell and scream that they are right and you are going to hell because you asked a question that you would like an answer to or another persons point of view to. I think the idea of the Big Bang Theory could be very possible. They need to remember that the bible says God created the earth, it does not say how. I am sorry that you were being yelled at and I do hope you know that not all religious people are rude. :)

Believers think they know all, just because someone preached it to them. Well that person was also human and so can look only as far as his / her eyes can see or think only in the domain he / she has experience.

An economist cannot think like an astronaut ! And neither can see into space.

All that is being discussed is "theory" ..... so whether it is Big Bang, God or whatever it is just a theory based on assumptions and not any tangible evidence. Yes, a hundred years hence 9/11 will not be spoken of as a theory but as fact.

If people want to believe that there is a Supreme Being and that this Being played with some fireworks ("Big Bang"... or a "Bang Bang" if anyone likes) - so be it. However, this does not give anyone the right to force his / her beliefs and here my question is whether this person will try to go and tell his / her boss that he / she is running a business wrong.

So all ye believers / non-believers who blow hard on their belief-trumpets first make sure that EVERYONE in the world (and in contact with you) must take your line of action, then go ahead and preach (but only to the persons you know) but be trus to yourself ......... does your boss listen to you ? does your wife / husband / bf / gf listen to everything you say ?? does the man on the street listen to you ???

Take it easy.........!

I believe the problem lies in your wording. You chose provacative language and recieved provacative answers.
You also aimed your question to a target audience of believers while choosing a stance of being in opposition. My question is why are you surprised at the result.

*I would like to add that I see no conflict between belief in God and the Big Bang Theory. Having one without the other to me is like seeing a baked cake and not noticing the oven. lol
I do think that you can get answers that are more to your liking if you just tone down your questions. If you like strong answers, continue the path. I do hope this helps.

If you are going to state an opinion and masquerade it as a question, you are going to have to expect to get some dissent to your already decided opinion. Some people actually make the mistake of thinking that you actually had a question. Contrary to your statement here, that isn't "forcing their ideas upon people". You ASKED for their ideas.

It's inevitable. If you try to give your opinion, people will try to cram theirs down your throat until you think on their lines. Atheists do it, agnostics do it, Chrisitans do it, and I'm guilty of it. I try not to, but it did once come out that way. To ask "why" is to ask every individual for their reasons for doing it. For me, I can't bear the thought of someone going to hell because I didn't tell them about God. It's nothing against non-believers. It's against something inside me.

Why do Big Bang Theory believers constantly try and force our children to believe that it happened? I do believe that a bang happened. God said it and BANG! It happened. I am not a decendent of fish and monkeys. Where are the bones (fossils) of all of these mutants? Not one has been found. No bone trail=No evolution.

Not all Christians are like that. They probably don't know the answer to your question and all they can revert to is arguing. Being a Christian myself, I agree with you that it's stupid. Hopefully we can keep our discussions on a level that never talks down to people.

Everyone answers even if its directed to a certain group, its an open forum.

There has been nasty stuff for everyone not just yours.

They were just stating from their Hearts as you would do about your own opinion.

I wonder the same thing too. I wonder about it all around.

WHATEVER the subject is, there is always someone here who just has to be a jerk. They just NEED to tell you that you are WRONG.

It reminds me of an old saying -
It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
