I was shocked. All I could think was about people who were stuck in those two towers. It must have been so horrifying for them. On that time, no one knew what was going on. I believe everyone was scared for themselves and for people who were in that building.

At first I thought it was an accident, like most people. Then, when I saw the second plane hit, I knew it was deliberate.

At no time did I, as an American, feel like America was "under attack." It was radical, and barbarically crude in it's effectiveness, but even with the great loss of life it was still only a primitive act of terror, carried out by cowards. This was NOT a prelude to war, it was a single, desperate, cowardly effort that was never going to go beyond the scope of September eleventh. Even the collapse of the buildings themselves doesn't compare to the implications that accompanied the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor.

There are many, intriguing, unanswered questions about exactly what happened that day (especially regarding the Pentagon), and I have no doubt that there are human beings alive today who KNOW the answers, but whether any those answers point to a conspiracy is anyone's guess. We know power corrupts, and we know Bush and his cronies are war mongers. The problem is that you're cherry picking events to build a scenario. You have to take ALL the facts into consideration.

While I wouldn't put it past human beings to have the potential to do something this unthinkable against their compatriots, potential proves nothing. Evidence is all that matters, and we simply don't have the evidence to prove what you're suggesting, but I do occasionally lay awake wondering.

All I could think was what in the world is going on!!!! I felt very uneasy about what could happen next... The first plane I thought OK why was that? Then I saw the second plane hit the tower and I knew something was really wrong! The cars started lining up at the gas stations and all flights were canceled. It was a horrible day!

i live in the NYC area and was watching when the first plane hit; at that time the media didn't appear alarmed to the point of panic; I knew it was gonna be alot worse but not as worse as another plane hitting the other tower shortly afterword.

Perhaps what I remember the most vividly is standing directly in front of the towers on Saturday September 8 with my friend and her son; he had gone up to the observation deck a few times before in the past with no problems and we were going to do it again that day, the 8th, but for some reason the little boy said: "I'm not going up there, it's not safe" so we went out for some Mexican food for lunch; I think I will remember that as long as I live.

I think your first thought was wrong.

We were awakened by a phone call from a friend who was screaming "we are under attack!"

Both my husband and I were brought up within the military. When we heard 'we are under attack' we jumped and began moving in SOP.

A minute later we learned that the first tower had been hit . . .

Our emotions were a mixture of grief, unbelief, and even relief that it was not an invasion.

I would suggest that you take some time to study the findings of the 9/11 commission.

Fund raising doesn't require this type of destruction. Our government is well adept at procuring our money under the guise of one thing, while spending it on another.

Bush probably did have involvement, why didnt they shoot down the plane heading for the Pentagon, they knew what had happened in NYC and they have SAM's in the Pentagon. Many other reasons

Wow, political bigotry even way back then!

Unimpressed.

I thought about the people dying.
I thought about how my family escaped Islam in the 1950s.
I thought, here it comes, we've been expecting this war for decades.
I thought, President Bush, you better be a darn strong President, because these people want to convert, enslave, or kill (I knew it was Islam, even then).

Right now I'm thinking you have no idea of what you are talking about.

There's no way Bush could have done that. He'd only been in office nine months, and he would have had to convince THOUSANDS of people to help him pull something like that off. It's not like a group of 5 people in our government could have done it. It wasn't our military, it was terrorists. There's a conspiracy theory attached to every major event in history, and it's insanity to buy into that nonsense. If we want to prevent this sort of thing from happening again, we need to stop paying attention to that sort of distracting poppycock.

Well I was only in jr high when it happened, but i thought that everything that we knew was going to be different. It was almost surreal. And how very much so it is. Up until that time we hadn't really been worried about people enlisting, now when one of my friends enlists, I wonder if i'm ever going to see them again.

No. Bin Laden had been planning this for years, I read about him in Reader's Digest several years before it happened. My response was...numb, I just couldn't believe it was happening. You see, the Palestinians and Israeli's are fighting over land, and since we support the Israeli's, well, naturally the other side hates us. They really, really hate us and they are finatics. Bush is not perfect, but he's just not that evil of a man and that's quite unfair to accuse him of that mass murder.
