One is now in a coma and his parents will not let the partner visit

I know this situatuion could happen to a straight couple but straight couples have the option to marry or not

1. An alien race is discovered outside our solar system.

2. Your entire family is killed in a tragic accident.

3. A modern day miracle occurs by someone of another religion. (Ex. Buddhist man causes amputees limbs to grow back by touching them.)

4. A virus wipes out half of the world's population.

5. A "Big Bang" is viewed by sattelite images creating another solar system.

To all readers, please note: the following is a discussion question. I am curious about how people would treat a welfare program, when their state government decided to order all singles to marry. Purpose: A married couple would receive LESS benefits than two singles. If the state chose to match partners Not by compatability, but by alphabet. If a state started with two lists, one male, and one, female, and assigned "Abraham Adamson" to "Annabelle Adams", how would most people react. Even more intriguing: What if the state did not take race into account, matching black women, to white men, and so on, just by virtue of whose name was next on the list. Also, what IF the terms of the marriage contract was that neither party could get divorced, for 5 years, or face total loss of all welfare benefits, for about 10 years. I would be very curious to know how the church, especially the CATHOLIC church would respond to such a welfare program. What do you think????

The Bible tells us to serve God but many of us, including me, don't always if ever do it. Why do people feel it's optional?

I don't think they should...it always almost ends up in bloodshed...

To explain my point religion does more bad than good (all abrahamic ones do anyway)...

Look at several African countries in Africa: almost so far I think relgion has claimed several million lives.

Throughout history religion has killed billions in total...

Look at the fights between:

Jews & Christians
Muslims & Christians
Jews & Muslims

The wastful times trying to exterminate each other: The Crusades...where no mercy was given to women and children.

In America Christians in politics (the extremely Christian) happen to want to start or inflict fear in people by exclaiming that the "apocalypse in coming because their goverment is poorly equiped in the right moral way"... etc...etc...and all the rest of that balderdash...pish posh...

Don't get me wrong I do believe in a higher power but not from the abrahamic faiths perspective...or any other for that matter...

So is it rightly justified?

If there is really a god why does he let most of the bad stuff happen to all the good people.Nothing bad normally happens to bad people.
Or do we live in hell and when we die we are at peace in heaven what do you think?

I've had a lot of dreams and thoughts about life after death. What happens when you die? Is there really a Heaven or Hell? Do you see nothing when you die or do you see God? I believe in reincarnation, but how do you know if you're that person you were before? Pretty weird, eh? Tell me about your thoughts and dreams.

When people go on trial, they are asked to put a hand on the bible and swear to tell the truth.

As a Wiccan, Swearing on the bible doesn't really wouldn't do any thing to me.. So... What would Pagans do in that situation?

Every where else has so much smut and people are just down right rude or nasty. The "newborn and baby" section is pretty o.k too.

Ok...what's with all the atheist questions!? I'm not an atheist I'm a christian and I'm sure their are people out there don't even care. I don't care if your atheist or not! I'm just tired of all bickering about how atheist this and atheist that! I know what your thinking 'why are you in the R&S section then?' or 'we just like to have fun while we are at work' not a day goes by that i can't peacefully search through this section and see an atheist question. Make THIS question the LAST atheist question! Arg! Christians aren't perfect either!

So I ask again, since he died for all our sins why do we need to ask for forgivness? since we are already forgiven?
Why do we need religion at all since the debt is paid and we owe nothing therefore we can not be prosecuted for any sins we may commit?
