Hey, i wanted to know if anyone could explain to me the theory about how when God made the world, the seven days where not 24 hour periods, rather, hmm, how to put it, Gods time, i guess, for lack of a better term. My wife and her brother talked with me about it, though i still dont fully understand.

I put this question to the attention of Muslims, Jews, and Christians b/ we all believe in the same just God (i'm not looking for a debate on this. if you don't believe we worship the same God, then there are plenty of other questions...)

I've always been hit. Abuse has been a part of my life since i was a child. A friend of mine who studied psychology when i was younger told me that abused women will most likely be abused for their entire lives.... that they will likely always attract abusers. I didn't believe that. I believed that if you change who you are and improve yourself... that you will attract different people.

However, I converted to Islam three years ago and my life is completely different than before. I have different goals, i'm in the honors society at my college, i'm more modesty, confident, and happy...... but nothings changed. there's still a person in my life that uses me as a punching bag.

Many seem to be claiming Jesus as 'personal savior'.
Bible says "there is no respect of persons with God".
Bible says wisdom from above has no partiality at all.
So where do these Jesus-ians get the partiality from?

Bible says Jesus only Saviour of Israel, of Jacob-->Israel.
Bible says Christ is Saviour of the world: Jn4:42; 1Jn4:18.
Bible says that God was in "Christ" reconciling "the world".
So a 'personal savior' concept is not biblical, and alienating;
But globe-all salvation is biblical, and unifying, not alienating.

Personal savior ppl seem to be the "Christ Jesus" sort.
Bible says eternal salvation is "through Jesus-->Christ".
CJ is the reverse of JC (is the only foundation laid: Mt 1:1).
CJ does not occur at all in any of the four gospel accounts.
CJ is only from Acts - Peter; JC is from Mt 1:1 - Rev 22:21.

Personal savior ppl focus on 2nd law of Rom 8:2.
But every way you look at another law you lose.
Saviour of the world ppl focus on grace void of law

What has happened to all the old fashioned values? Why do so many people feel the need to sleep around and go on binges around town? Where are manners? Alot of people don't hold doors open or say please and thank you any more.

Of course, not everyone is like this, but why are there so many that seem to have lost good values and manners?

when we see the comet from earth its just a tiny speck with a tiny tail. scientists say that this comet is about 20 million light years away from our earth

so why are religions trying to make our universe look so tiny and present everything as a neatly packaged gift to believers?

When I was 3 my primary carer, she was my nan, died from a heart attack. My mother came home and found me with her body but has always refused to talk of that day (i'm 42 now). I would have been told along the lines of Roman Catholic beliefs that the angels had taken her to heaven. I was enrolled in Catholic school after that. Developmentally i have grown up with an insatiable need for reasons and, as i grow older a fundamental need to belief. I found this out the other day, talking to my partner.
I reject religion but will die for what I believe in. The whys of it are entrenched in the experience of what happened on that day.
I believe humans are no more than vessels for Spirit. Spirit has no shape or form. Only a continuity. If all the traumatic experiences were equally shared between all ... there might be less wars ...

A creator of existence cannot, as a rule, exist. Were existence in need of a creator, that creator would first have been in need of existence. I'd also like to explain what a biophysical polydeist is: We believe that there existed several conscious entities that created everything physical and biological. Then science took over from there. The entities then became us. Like it? It's a mix between science and spiritualism (not religion). Theists may not avoid the original question by critisizing my beliefs.

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me"

That doesn't say I'm the ONLY God....and God doesn't say He's the only God just that he is the only living God(or something)...

So...could there have been other gods with God?
