I have been in love with a boy named Jake for over two years now. He lives very far away and I really don't have much of a way of contacting him anymore. I know where he goes to school and his address, but I have no way of getting there as he is so far away and I am only seventeen. Every night, literally, for the past two years or so, I have cried myself to sleep holding his picture. I've tried to get over him, but as love goes, I can't. I think about him often, and many times, it makes me happy. But more often, I cry because I fear I'll never have him, and I probably won't. I'm so in love with this boy and I don't know what to do. A few people have said I'm not really in love, but I know I am in my heart. I just am at a loss. My depression is getting worse and worse each day. Please, no rude or obnoxious answers, only serious ones.

I know there is skeptism, but I am psychic. I have thought for a long time that I was, then I determined it. Anyway, I wondered if there was a way to tell what kind of psychic I am? There are love psychics, death psychics, money psychics..etc. Help! Serious answers only!

Do you go the next step and consider yourself butch, fem, etc? What would you consider yourself beyond the general answer, if anything? (Add your own subcategory as well)

I admit to being gay, but I do not believe it goes further than that for me.

Earlier today, there was a question posted: It was entitled, "Muslims, Jews & Christians".....
I tried giving the link here but it's about 40 lines long for some reason. My answer was a bit harsh and unsensitive to the asker.
I am offering my heart-felt, deepest apologies to the asker (Submission) and to all of the people on this Q&A board. Putting all spiritual differences aside for one moment.......please understand, that I am passionate about what I believe in.....and I will defend it to the death.
But I showed no compassion for this person by the way I answered....and for that, I am truly sorry. I did not show the love of Christ by doing that......and I allowed my sinful flesh to get in the way.

I have also e-mailed Submission in the hopes of restoring an open-forum relationship. We will always have our differences here on the board......but I suppose that's why we're here to begin with.

Such as turning the Nile to blood and a stick into a snake. So which god do you suppose gave them the power to do that?

I was raised Catholic - had all the sacraments, married in the Catholic Church etc.

However I have been Conservative Evangelical for the last 20 years. Baptised a second time!! etc. I found the people to be so great, some were crazy demon hunters, obsessed with the end of time etc. but in general the people loved God etc.

I take the bible as the word of God, I read it, I dont know 100 times over, I preached, I evangelised, etc.

Now I find God leading me back to the Catholic Church, I realise in reading and learning that it "may be" the real church. I may have been deluded for the last 20 years.

Purely on the facts I find that Catholics have more truth than the poeple I know, and I find that hard because I love my friends. Seriously its like I look at it and think I wasted 20 years.

I have not found a non-catholic who can prove that the catholic faith isint biblical, they all take it out of context as I did. Its bugging me a lot. I am meeting with a priest so that help.

How do you define concretely what is moral & what is immoral? I don't mean you as an individual, what I mean is: Is it possible to define concretely a set of morals to be used and applicable to society as a whole?

In saying that, what exactly assures you that your own view of what is moral is correct? Personally I think it is wrong to rape babies, but I'm sure somewhere in the world there is someone who thinks that it is perfectly fine. So between he and I, who decides (hypothetically) who has the moral view? People have different ideas and expectations on what is right & wrong.

Morality cant rest with what is currently popular or agreed to by the majority. Eg: There are white people who in 1930's Germany thought it was ok to exterminate the Jews- a view which I am sure many of them would be ashamed of now. I won't even touch the slavery issue.

So, is there any way to define objectively what exactly is moral without bringing religion and God into it? This is the challenge.

The party is being held at a public restaurant, and everyone is expected to buy their own meal. Then theres a club excursion. All invitees are expected to pay a cover charge to get into the club.
I don't have anytihng all white to wear, and I'd feel more comforable in other colors. I'd like to come to the party, but I've been told that I'd better wear all white or don't come at all. Is the inviter being selfish here? I mean, I'm not being served dinner, or getting a free pass into the club. I'm getting the 'privelge' to wish this person a happy birthday. Why should I have to do all this extra crap and spend a ton of money?

Mythology predates the Bible by centuries.
Appolo-Zeus-Jehovah-God
Hercules-Sampson-Jesus
Mercury-Gabrial
Hades-Satan
Prometheus-Lucifer-Satan
Agamemnon-David
Troy-Jerico
There are others but these are some of the main connections.
What do you think about this?

Without going into too much detail, a woman that my husband and I frequently work with as volunteers, is rude and abrupt to me, and appears to dislike working with or talking to me. My husband doesn't perceive a problem with her, nor does she appear to have any problem with him. Is this a personality conflict, or just my perception of the situation, or what?

I grew up in a Christian home, but a rather liberal one, I suppose. My father is a biochemist and my mother has a career and votes NDP/Liberal (democrats for you Americans), definitely not that American stereotype. We're Canadian anyways...

In Canada we get a lot of those American televangelist programs, we get American networks. Well, ignoring the crazed look in the televangelists eyes, I always noticed not only a hatred towards women and feminism, but a sort of worship of capitalism and a fear of socialism and communism (communism being an unrealistic ideal in Canada)

I'm not exactly the bible living Christian, but I've studied it because of my upbringing. From what I understand, heaven is actually communist. There are many versus and quotes from Jesus that support this argument. I never once followed a feminist hating capitalist argument from an American televangelist.

How does one support a right winged government and remain Christian? What's with the "Christian right"?

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat” (Leviticus 26:29). “And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters” (Deuteronomy 28:53). “And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them” (Deuteronomy 28:57). “And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend” (Jeremiah 19:9). I knew they were in a strange cult with all the blood offerings and their god needing the blood of a human(jesus) to make everything okay......but this is going to far! How can they believe in such a sick god?

If God so powerful and all that mighty stuff, why is he called lonely in the Bible? Why would he have to have a sinful bunch like us to call his own? First, we are born sinful then he makes us forgiven after we except Jesus, then raises us up and we are made perfect like he is perfect, knowing what he knows. So why not just eliminate all the garbage in between stuff and start us out the way we end up.
This seems like God is lacking something. And don't say God lacks for nothing, because apparently he does.
Don't say he did not want robots, because it seems that is how we end up after all. What FREE WILL choice will there be after we inherit eternal life?

South Korea has 16,000 missionaries abroad at end 2006, many in Muslim nations. The S. Korean church leaders must surely be made accountable for making use of naive, innocent young adults as missionaries to satisfy their evangelical zeal. Discuss.

when he is the son of God, he better be perfect, or the whole whole world would have put a boot up his butt. The flood and everything, judging people...God comes to us and walks perfect, and prides himself as rightouss....but as per the christians, he can be the only one to be Rightous and holy. So they can have someone to die for them........maybe we are all suppose to be rightous and holy like him?

How? I wonder if anyone is wise to answer this?

I don't want to become paranoid about all the attention China-made products are getting (ie, pet food, food poisoning, there was that recent Mattel recall for toys that had too much lead), but I also want to be smart about the things I buy. The long term effects add up. Opinions/info??
