You should not change the way you think.

You should educate yourself with your adult mind about the Catholic Church.

Why do you hate to go to Mass? It could be that you are not getting anything out of it because you are not putting anything into it.

You do not have to become a Priest to keep your faith. It is really hard to keep faith, especially when you are in your early 20's, there is a constant barrage of consumerism trying to separate you from God in order to get you to try to buy happiness, that is where the brain washing is going on.

I suggest that you keep asking questions about your faith and look for answers, but don't just go to Atheist sources for those answers, you need a balanced education, get a copy of the Catechism and also look in it. It sounds like you already have enough non-Catholic influence, just set aside 20 minutes out of your day to read any book by Scott Hann, or any other Pro-Catholic source.

That would be 2 and a half hours a week (including mass) out of over a hundred hours that you are awake a week to learn anything Pro-Catholic, and the rest for whatever you want.

An eternity is a terrible thing to waste!

Peace!

I think you should actually try to learn about the Catholic church. If you knew enough about it you would see how awesome it is. The reason why you hate going to mass is because you don't understand it. You have to study the bible and use other resources in order to do so. Otherwise I can imagine that mass would not be an enjoyable experience. Scott Hahn, Karl Keating, Christopher West, are a few examples of folks who have written great books that can help you.

I'm not catholic but, If you believe the lamb of God is satanic stuff then yes, you should change. If you believe that there is not a God you definitely should change because there is a God, no doubt about it.

If you think Slayer and LoG are 'Satanic', then you are more Catholic brainwashed than you lead yourself to believe. These are bands that play music. NOT lifestyle or Faith choices.

Stand up and be counted.
Step over that line and, instead of saying that you are a catholic, when quite clearly you are very borderline even to the point of being NOT a catholic, state quite clearly to all that will listen "I am an atheist".
Job done. All over bar the crying of your staunch catholic family but time will heal.

yes, its better to be hot/cold than lukewarm.

BTW: read the Bible, its where you find renewing of your mind.

What goes into our body comes out you put "santanic" stuff in -that is what comes out.
JUST TO ADD:There is awesome Christian music out there now Even Metal so you could look into some of that.

I would say, yes. Being a Catholic by name only doesn't really help anyone, so why not be true to yourself and follow something you do believe in.

Well by the looks of it you wont be changing the way you think by not going to mass, you'll just be doing what you think you should do.

Sounds like you've become Agnostic/Atheist.
