First of all, you assume that we're brainwashed. I, personally, believe in God based off all that he has done for me. Saving grace aside, he has done some wonderful things in my life.
And, before you start spouting evolutionary ideas at me, let's take a look at what Lee Duigon, a very prominent liberal, unbelieving atheist has to say about the topic.
“Sorry--the Theory of Evolution isn't even a theory, but a belief system. It is unobservable, untestable, and unverifiable. It is a relic of the 19th century, and ought to be discarded.”
It takes FAR more faith to be an atheist than it does to be a follower of Christ.

Your sophistry smacks of circular reasoning.
I believe in Christ and in His Father, God, and in the Holy Ghost, because I applied careful experimentation and got the predicted results, thus proving the theory. The scriptures challenge us to do His word and we will know of the truth thereof. God challenges us with the words "prove me now herewith" as concerns tithing but it applies to other principles as well. Christ said that we could seek, ask and knock and get the desired answers. James taught that we should ask God if we lack wisdom. Moroni taught that if we will ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth to us by the power of the Holy Ghost. Jesus taught Joseph that the truth could be felt by a peace of mind, a warm comforting feeling in our hearts as opposed to a stupor of thought, a confusion that would cause us to forget that which is wrong.
Bottom line is that I read these passages and tried them. I applied the experiment on His word, I planted the seed and I felt the predicted answers. The scriptures were true. Now, lest you accuse me of psychologically creating a self fulfilling prophecy, I prayed for what I thought was right and got the opposite answer from the spirit. I reversed my request and felt the comforting correct answer. I did it again with another question and what I wanted came back with a resounding no. I changed my request and got the correct answer. Thus, twice in a row I asked for that which I thought was right and was told by the spirit that I was wrong. When I changed my request to what I thought was wrong, I received the comforting feeling that it was instead correct. I have lived by that principle ever since and have not regretted my choice.
God lives, Jesus is the Christ and revelation from the Holy Ghost is available to everybody that seeks it. Life is a dual entity, both physical and spiritual. Seek to develop the spiritual side of life and the physical side will be easier to handle.

I wasn't raised to think God was in my life.
God came into my life later.

Any brainwashing that occurred while I was growing up was of the athesitic/evolution variety. I grew up in an atheist home, went to the Church of Evolution (Public School), and only came to Christ as an adult.

But you can push yours.
Consumerism is doing the brainwashing, and it sounds like you are a victim.

Brainwashing is "coercive persuasion".
How would you reverse or undo 15 or so years of a person's early life. Deprogramming?

Good luck getting them to admit that their life is a lie. Brunettegirl's response is so sure of herself that she had to repeat the same thing over and over, its the self deception she will never perceive.
