"At the moment it is generally thought that biological explanations of sexuality are insufficient to explain the diversity of human sexuality"
"Psycho-social explanations offer a variety of factors that could contribute to the development of a person's homosexuality. For example, a female dominated upbringing in a gay man's past, with an absence of a male role model."
"What is clear is that people's behaviour is influenced by their family environment, their experiences and their sense of themselves."

Being gay is a natural variation in God's creation, like being left-handed. Most likely it comes partly from genes and partly from hormonal activity in the womb. By the time you are born, you already have a predisposition to be gay. It is not a choice, it is just discovering who you are passionate about, who you fall in love with. You are afraid because this seems to go against the customs or beliefs of your people. This is a struggle all over the world, of changing people's ideas about being gay. You are not bad or evil. You also are a good child of God and a fine human being. If others think you are bad, do not believe them. But to be happy, you may have to move to a bigger city when you are older.

I don't believe that is the cause for you being gay. Honey there is no cause, that's just what you like. there is nothing wrong with that so stop trying to find a reason. Just be happy with yourself. I'm sure your a wonderful man and you'd be the same wonderful man if you were straight or gay.
Being raised by a woman just makes you have more feelings and a better dresser. I'm raising 2 boys on my own and they are more sensitive and damn can they dress.
As for older men. well, I'm straight but I like older men. 5-10 years older than me is perfect. It's the maturity level that you are looking for. besides, men get better looking as they get older. they become sexier. men are just lucky like that.

Possibly! I share your attraction for guys older than me (not too much older, but older), however I grew up a product of a divorced family. I, however, spent time with mother and father (at one time I lived with mom, and at another time I lived with dad). I don't think that living with mom (and having no father figure) made you gay, however I think you are looking for that father figure and that might be why you like older guys! Just a thought, and something I have thought about also. Hope this helps!

Perhaps you have some learned gender nonconformity that made you more susceptible to being more likely to have had encounters with homosexuality influence while you were younger. Becoming gay is from an influence that caused an attraction to the same gender and the acceptance of this by oneself. Often this hap pends while we are children and we forget the first influence that caused us to become attracted to the same gender, and as well as we are often so young we do not even no what we had done. It was pure emotion without reins.

Well... the other side of your question may apply to me. Since I am gay... I've never chosen to become involved with a woman, and thus have no children of my own.
I've always wanted a son... and I LOVE being able to share my life with younger men (younger GAY men).
That's also why I think it's GREAT that a number of younger gay guys prefer to hang-with older gay guys. There are plenty of other gay men like me (older) who would love to form a relationship with a gay guy like you (younger).
Hope you find your true-love... the older guy you are hoping to find.

It seems to make sense, but think about it: How many guys do you know who were raised in a single-parent household, by their mothers, who are straight? I would say about 90% or more. Which would be about the statistical norm, right?

I don't think that's the reason you are gay. I grew up with sibling and both parents. I am gay and my bf is 18 years older than I am. It's not that your situation is unique. You like what you like, it's that simple.

I don't believe it caused you to be gay. I believe we are born that way. It may however explain you being attracted to older/father figure men.

many, many people grow up without fathers especially in urban areas and I'd say that most of them are not gay
so there has to be a LOT more to it than that
