If there is really a god why does he let most of the bad stuff happen to all the good people.Nothing bad normally happens to bad people.
Or do we live in hell and when we die we are at peace in heaven what do you think?

Heaven and Hell are what you "think" they are. You can experience the state of Heaven or Hell according to what we cultivate in our minds. God's state of mind cannot include beliefs of good and bad for this would denote imperfection. These are human concepts. The mind always wants you to see the bad so that you will miss the good, which is always harder to view. Meditation takes us beyond the clash of the opposites in mind, to the space of purity, innocence, bliss. Give up the judgments of the dual mind and experience the gift that was given to you. Its not that.... im a christian and just because your "good" doesnt mean anything. I actually just went through some really hard times and i noticed that the more i prayed and talked to god i gained alot of faith in him and right now things are going great.

And another thing is people are always saying "well if there was a God, why isnt he controlling all this bad stuff going on in the world" Well for those who cant understand its called the end times.... and letting everyone know i believe that the end times is already happening.

Stephanie, first let me say that I believe there really is a God and that effects my answer.

It may seem like bad things never happen to bad people, but it really does. The truth from a Christian viewpoint is that Satan and sin are reigning in our world until the Return of Christ. Because of sin both good people and bad people have terrible things happen to them.

That isn't a comforting answer. I have had to bury two youth recently and I understand that. But the Bible tells us that when Christ returns all evil will be destroyed and there will be no more terrible things. Also in heaven, there is no pain and God's love and goodness reign eternal there.

I believe the reason for the bad happening to Good people is because satan is trying to discourage those who are good. He already has the bad people on his side (so no need to waste time on them) - so if he can torment & tear down the faith of the good-- He believes he can eventually get them to blame God (as in the story of Job)
If they turn against God... satan thinks he gets a feather in his cap.
Why does God allow it?? To strengthen us-- to purify us for heaven.
I know heaven will be peace- so when I get discourage..I think of a song I like-- called "It's Almost Over"

Bad things happen to good people because we're being tested, builds character, perserverance, patience, and most of all, to humble us. Bad things also happen to good people because Satan doesn't want us to love God.

Read the book of Job. Bad things *really* happened to him, as a form of testing.

Good things happen to bad people because Satan leaves them alone. When they start believing in God, then Satan starts the attack.

Gee, this is really going to irritate the aetheist out there!

Well. First of all god is always spelled G-O-D, not god. Second, God lets things happen because he knows we can handle it. Amen to that post above

he lets the bad stuff happen to good people so that he could test them in what they've learned throughout this life. Nobody's life is perfect.

Remember, "god" is nothing more than a nonsense word made up by man to explain away the things we can't yet understand.
