cuz i thought THE BIBLE said we were forgiven "once and for all'. because what person stops "sinning", really? no one is perfect, so no one should judge anyone.

and how can a person tell another person where they will spend eternity based on how they interpret a book? just cuz you read it in "the bible", doesn't mean you know what the intention was, or that your intertpretation is the "correct" one.

Do you christians actually believe that the only thing you have to do as christians is to ''accept jesus christ as your saviour'' ?!! Do you really believe that Paul had the authority to abolish God's laws in the bible, when Jesus himself couldn't do it. Don't you realize that the reason Paul, who btw is neither a prophet nor God (I hope we're clear on that), had to make christianity so lawless is so that more people would join. I don't understand how anyone can really believe that they don't have to follow Jesus's teachings just cuz some random guy told them not to, so explain it to me won't yea ?

Serious question. No offense intended. This is for real self searching.
Please don´t answer with verses, I won´t read them.
Be sincere, you´d only be fooling yourself if you´re not.

From the answers that I´ve got in this series of Q: I understand that some (granted not all) are not always satisfied with the bible and some think that their ministers can err. Some also say that the pope should be allowed to be elected.OK
Now:
Do you feel comfortable with the confusion? Would you feel better if everything was straightforward and simple like:
Bible: always right and clear as crystal.
Minister: always right because the bible is clear as crystal
Pope: modern universal suffrage.
Would you like a religion like that?
What would it do to your faith? Increase it? No change? Decrease it? Would it transform into someting else? In what?

What will you say to Allah(swt) on judgement day? Will you say you followed the Quran and Sunnah as it should be followed? Or will you say you followed it with changing it to adapt with the times?

He said..."those days will be shortened, lest all flesh be wasted away." The signs he gave are nearly all fulfilled now, each week. When do you think the world atheists will pee their pants? I believe it's about 3 to 5 years from now. What's your guess?

Why stop at a minister? Should the pope seat be up for elections? Some might say that he is god´s appointee, but the white smoke/black smoke signals are decided by human cardinals... Right?

i used to be a right-wing, fundamentalist "christian". I was miserable, cuz i was sooooo gay. Then i realized i was forgiven for every sin, past, present, and future. and god loved me unconditionally and i didnt' have to pretend to be holy, i am a holy child of god, who is gay. we're all his children, gay, straight, black, white, protestant, caltholic, jew, or muslim, etc etc etc. as many different people as there are on this earth, that's how many different children of god there are. and whatever you do to the least of them, you do to me.

I have been skimming through the bible(mostly Revalation) and I have not found the story of satan's rebellion against God. This is one of the fundamental stories of christianity that justifies the religion. So what book and chapter is the Rebellion told or mentioned.
Also, if anyone knows, where there is evidence for purgatory in the bible.
Danke

conclusions? I went to Sunday School until I was 11 at which point I was allowed to stop going as I was sick of being bullied by the older kids (constant taunting and belittling comments) and was sick of being patronised and being told I wasa dreadful sinner and that God did not approve of the way I was living my life. I still feel screwed up because of this as I still have a deeply hidden fear that my agnostic views which lurch ever closer to atheism will result in me going to hell.
And before anyone says any different,I love my parents very much I just resent the fact these fears still haunt me. So thanks a lot to my sunday school teachers and the minister for the conflict I still feel 23 years on. And yes I do feel I have a right to be angry as well. It's only since I read The God Delusion a year ago, that I have felt I could face up to these things and speak out.

Anyone else feel this way?

In the answers to Gnostic's beautiful question from earlier, two types of opinion were expressed.
Some say we should share our insights, at least one says no, sharing can diminish them.

Seem to me that there are (at least) two quite different types of genuine insight. In the first, we are shown some aspect or taste of Truth for OUR benefit, a precious gift to help us on our way or to deepen our understanding. I think this type does lose by being widely shared.
Then there is the insight of Truth for the sake of the Truth itself. Re-discovery or re-cognition. That should be shared and it spreads its light in the sharing.
How do we know the difference? Well, I guess that's why we have teachers.

What'cha think?

how come they are Christians when they reject the teachings of the Catholic Church --- The Church that Jesus Christ Himself founded?

just wondering, because I was surprised when people ask about Christianity, these Bible-fundies think I don't have the right to answer since I am Catholic. they believe that the Catholic Church is not a Christian Church since its name is "Catholic". I really find that one absurd.

FYI, the center of Christianity is the Vatican City, that's where Catholicism is. Catholicism IS Christianity.

so anyway, why not just call them Bible-funadamentalists because that's really what they are?
