Love Yahoo asked the Born Again Christians if it bothered them if Mormons called themselves "Christian".

This is my response.

Would it bother you if a Born Again Christian attended your church and wore a cross around his or her neck and carried a Bible that was translated into normal English that was understandable to the average person?
If he or she attended a Bible study in your church and used only the Bible as the guide and claimed the baptism he or she recieved at their church was true, would you accept them?
What if he or she fellowshipped with others in your membership and began to teach with authority in the name of Jesus and many believed and were saved. Would you accept them with open arms?
You say you are the Church of Jesus Christ, so that means anyone who believes in Jesus would be welcome as brothers, Right?
If you would exclude a Christian from your membership simply because he doesnt believe all the lies Joseph Smith told, then you are not Christian

The purpose of Prophets was to show an example to mankind.

They were also sent to preach the message of God unto mankind and teach the laws of God.

If Christians make these duties one for god or his son to do then where do the Prophets fit in ?

Have they ever considered that Jesus was a Great Israelite Prophet and others deified him after his departure.

Our world is in a mess. We can't count on mankind to straighten things up. Things are going out of control with all the killings, hunger and sickness. consider the following scenario. God sends a message to all the leaders of the world to assemble at the United Nations. God appears and warns everyone that if their respective countries failed to be humane and be kind to one another they will be severly punished. So that He will be taken seriously, He does some godly demonstration such as causing severe earthquake or fire in the sky. Will that work?

For ex. if your overseas fighting in iraq or where ever we are a sin against the christianty faith? because in the bible it talks about wsar all the time.. and i've been wanting to go into the army but i can't get that off of my mind.. and my old precher didn't really help all that much. I haven't asked our new precher but he seems to busy all the time.. Any help would be appricated...

The Bible says, "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" [Psalm 139:16]

---God had already decided what you will do each and everyday of your life and He's already officially recorded it down!

This verse clearly indicates that God not only knew our future, but He also predestined it! Christians classical argument for a God that knows our future is, "God knows our future but He didn't make our choice". This statement cannot be true because it is cleary written, "(God)scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe". Now this clearly contradicts with the concept of free-will doesn't it not? How would you christians explain this with a LOGICAL response?

The kind of answers I don't want:
---The bible has a few errors(this would invalidate it)
---God knows our future but He didn't make our choice
(I already explained why this can't be)

*keep in mind, "He already recorded!"

I was walking and jogging with my boyfriend 2nite...and as we prayed I was so filled with the bliss of Heaven...that my spirit was out of my body...I was about 20 feet to the right...watching my physical body and my BF walk and laugh and talk. This went on for about 10 minutes. What do you think this meant ?

I understand when Native Americans protest the use of terms such as "Digger", or "Savage". But, I know of a University in Oklahoma whose team name was recently changed from "Redmen" to "Riverhawks".

The name of the state of "Oklahoma" means "Red Man". It was Native Americans themselves who used the terms "Red Man" and "White Man" to differentiate. If a group of white men came and asked, "Who lives to the West?" The Native American tribe might respond, "Red Man", meaning a different Native American tribe. This is why we sometimes use names for tribes that isn't what the tribe traditionally called itself. Most tribes called themselves "The People", or some variation.

Now, this University is called "The Riverhawks", a generic term, if you ask me. The University was once a Seminary for Native Americans, and I feel that the name was respectful and a tribute to the Native American history of the University.

Is it possible to be too sensitive, aka "politically correct"?

If at all for one thing. But which subject category should it be in? Under mythology and folkglore? I understand it being taught as general knowledge but I hate seeing it be shoved on people/children as if you have to be religious. Whether or not you are planning on being an Athiest or an xtian (shorthand for christian) religion should be mentioned, not forced upon.

The reason I ask is because I personally can't take the Bible word for word and say that it was written by God and is the facts of life. I think Christianity is also about using your heart and conscious to decide on issues.

An example:

"If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
Leviticus 20:13

I am not gay, and if people don't think it's right then it is their choice, but how can you think that God wants you to go around killing homosexuals? It just doesn't make any sense.

And if you truly do believe that the Bible is God's unaltered word and the pure truths of life, then I guess you have a lot of people to kill.

Is that what you think God wants?
