cuz i thought THE BIBLE said we were forgiven "once and for all'. because what person stops "sinning", really? no one is perfect, so no one should judge anyone.

and how can a person tell another person where they will spend eternity based on how they interpret a book? just cuz you read it in "the bible", doesn't mean you know what the intention was, or that your intertpretation is the "correct" one.

I'm sure you can..but that's solely between you and God.
It's not our job as human beings to judge what is God's to judge.

See, this is why I'm not Christian. The Bible is a book. That's all it is. Learning to think for ones self is the real challenge in life. The Bible has some great guidelines and starting points for the human journey. The problem is when people become fanatical and literal in that regard. Does that make any sense to you?

Yes there are certain things that are right and others that are wrong. You know what those are so live by what you know to be right and you'll be just fine.

If you believe in the bible, you know better than to eat shellfish, commit usury, or make a man wear a hat in church.

If you're forgiven, it's for all time on that one transgression. If you do it over and over again, according to the bible, you need to ask forgiveness every time.

That is, if you believe in the Judeo-Christian mythos. I don't know about other religions. What does the Qur'an say on the subject? Or for that matter, Dianetics?

Forgiveness is based on the person. If you ask for forgiveness with all your heart you are forgiven ,but if you ask for forgiveness and then continue to do the deed that you are asking to be forgiven of then you truly did not ask because you knew that what you did and are doing is wrong. I smoke off and on again through my life and probaly will till I die but I don't ask forgiveness for it because I know its wrong yet continue to do so.When my final judgement is placed upon me and they ask me why I never asked I will say because I wasn't ready. We can each only truly judge our own actions. But we have the moral imperitive to make sure that True Evil does not win.Minor sins will be forgiven in the end if you truly wish for them too.But even minor sins commited enough can weigh you down.

I wrote this many times about this topic I do believe in God but not in a book which has been translated so many times and is being taught by preachers who later that day do all the stuff they say is sinful.

bottomline is, if you are forgiven, you are forgiven, unless you keep purposely doing the same things that you know are wrong. then, you go unforgiven, because you dont seem to give a damn.

Sin is an INDU$TRY.

Televangelists list on their tax returns as being "Spiritual Deans".

Big money.

Morality has little to do with sin and everything to do with profit margins.
