So, over the course of my online gaming experience, I have seen a pattern emerge whenever I say something about the Second World War; particularly the holocaust.

It seems that everyone thinks that the holocaust was an attempt by the Nazis, driven by no other purpose than pure hate, to kill all the Jews. People use this as ammunition against Christianity...

To sum it up:

Even direct mail pieces from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum cannot acknowledge the Polish dead -- their annual direct mail piece reads, “You see, the Nazis tried to wipe out not only the Jews but also the physically and mentally handicapped, Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, Gypsies, Soviet POWs and people who didn’t agree politically

No mention of Christians dying in the holocaust...

Well, hold on I'm out of Characters!

Which do you think will really save you if lets say this earth blows up! Science/technology or umm, a God you can't prove exists!

Hmm, who saves people in car crashes or from cancer or viruses! Not God, Science saves them! What makes you think if God can't heal or save one person, do you really think he is going to save you if this earth blows up?

Did they thank God for GOOD THINGS that happened?
Or they just blaming God because they don't know who else to blame?
Do you think its fair when they blamed God for bad things and forget about God when they got good things?
Don't they think what damage that humans did to earth?
and all of the humans crime?
Are they think that is God's fault too?

I'm sorry if I use "they" instead of "we" because I'm not one of the people...

I was walking in the supermarket in my city and saw a warning sign near the meat department stating new research that showed that even at the highest temperatures, some bacteria in pork still is not eliminated. Then I did further research and my faith became much stronger than it already was. What is your take on this? Is it something new to you?

Consumption of freshly killed pork products causes acute responses, such as inflammations of the appendix and gall bladder, biliary colics, acute intestinal catarrh, gastroenteritis with typhoid and paratyphoid symptoms, as well as acute eczema, carbuncles, sudoriparous abscesses, and others. These symptoms can be observed after consuming sausage meats (including salami which contains pieces of bacon in the form of fat).

Because even if you succeed in preserving your own integrity, the sons and daughters of the religious and non-religious will have to go through the exact same arguement in the future... just like how it ALWAYS has been. So instead of arguing what EVERYONE CAN NOT AGREE on... why dont we just focus more on the things that we can actually AGREE TOGETHER?

like... everyone wants to be purely happy... everyone wants peace... everyone wants to be loved. AGREE?

I don't get these people. They say "Evil is not God's fault, it's the Devils fault." Then in the next breath they will say that "God is the creator of all things." If God created everything, then the Devil definitaly fits within the scope of everything. Therefore, the Devils existence is not the Devils fault, it's God fault, being that God created the Devil. And if God is all knowing, he would have known that the Devil would be evil prior to creating him. Sure, the Devil might be the cause behind evil, but it was God who unleashed that Evil. Also, the Bible says God created everything. If you take the Bible literally, as many Christians claim to, that would mean that God had to have created himself, being that God also fits within the scope of everything???

The first, which someone pointed out to me on IIDB: you cannot state that god exists because morals exist. First, there is no objective morality because different cultures approve and disapprove of different things all the time. Second, if objective morality did exist, as many theists posit, are they objectively moral because god said they were good, or are they good without him saying anything? If it is the former, then they are not objective, they are subjective because god said so. If it is the latter, then the morals are independant of god and thus cannot prove his existence.

The second, which I came up with on my own: prayer, which is mandatory in many religions, does not allow the existence of a god. A god must necessarily be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent to be god; if it does not meet all three criteria then it is not a god. If you are praying about a problem you are facing, this means that the god made the problem or allowed it to exist, and thus it is not

Several people died when the bridge on I 35 collapsed tonight. And that is terrible!!! I'm not out to condemn those that built the bridge, but I am anticipating people blaming God. All I want to know is, in this tragedy, who is to blame, people (someone made a mistake, I am not out to blame whomever) or God?

I am sick of everyone judging one another (ONLY GOD IS GOOD ENOUGH TO JUDGE ANYONE) He who is without sin shall throw the first stone.

I am sick of everyone killing.(THOU SHALL NOT KILL) No one is exempt from this rule. Every life taken and every war fought is wrong and sinful.

I am sick of the unkind words. (LOVE EVERYONE, NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT THEY BELIEVE)

GOD LOVES EVERYONE, EVEN THE PEOPLE WHO STRAY FROM HIS FLOCK.

YOU WON'T GET CLOSER TO HEAVEN IF YOU GIVE YOUR PASTOR 10% OF YOU INCOME (TITHE) SO HE CAN DRIVE A BMW.

WE MUST BECOME HUMAN AGAIN AND IMBRACE LIFE (WITH ALL IT'S FLAWS)

GOD IS REAL, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU PICTURE HIM OR WHAT YOU CALL HIM, HE STILL LISTENS AND HE STILL LOVES YOU.

GOD UNDERSTANDS YOUR PROBLEMS, PERHAPS YOU SCHOULD CRY ON HIS SHOULDER FOR ONCE.

GOD IS EVERYWHERE!

I MIGHT JUST BE A NAIVE PERSON WHO IS YOUNG AND HAS A LOT OF LIFE TO LIVE, BUT I KNOW WHAT I BELIEVE AND THIS IS IT.

Life today is all non intentional, with a series of events, There is no real purpose to life. Why are people always looking for a purpose.
there is no real or original purpose to life because if there were you would not be free, it means you have a role a job to full fill. No purpose in life means you are free to do whatever you want. You can do anything you want in life, ( unless of course you have certain physical limitations)
If you had a purpose in life it means you are made specifcally for a task. But we have no task other than what we make it. This pnly shows that there is no purpose in life, there's only options, choices, and oppertunities. Depending on the way we perceive things limits us as a whole of what we can do. But if we actually start to see things for the way they are maybe people will understand this better. How come people think having no purpose in life is bad or horrible, but never think about it as freedom? I mean if i had a purpose that means i get limited

Okay,

So, I've seen a couple of people on R&S say, instead of "God" , "G-D"

Whats up with that? Have I TOTALLY missed out on something?

Will I burn in eternal hellfire because I didn't bleep-out the "o"?

What denomination of Christianity forbids a person to say "God"? Taking the Lord's name in vain is one thing, but isn't this OTT? (Over the top, eh!)

Thanks,

Phil

Let me ask you this: Can you scientifically prove that stealing is wrong?

The Bible is about morality, nothing else. It's not a science book.

Religion has been around since Adam and Eve and it will continue to be around after science fails mankind.

2007-08-01 19:23:34 · 29 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

all three major religions teach it? The overall message of the three books is living in peace, caring for those around us, and respecting our elders. All three religions also teach to look for the best in all things, not the worst. Why do we forget this? I am a muslim, but I chose to be because the book matched my feelings anyway and felt so true in my heart. And that's gotten stronger. Is it your opinion that those who are peace seeking individuals strive to create that atmosphere? Do you think it's ok to hate a whole group of people because of a label?

I've heard that tradition indicates that most of the disciples (except John) were put to death.

Where can I find accurate information on what happened to each of them? If you cut and paste, please add the website address.
