fear and hate are two different things the racism mr jello talks about completely overshadows the fact that some good people still fear what they dont understand

fear by itself is not hate. it must be accompanied by violent words and deeds before you can justifiably make that accusation. .

AS a gay man I know that these fearful people have generally been so heavily brainwashed all their lives and that the worst of it comes from a small town mentality where the exposure to diversity is very limited.

the only people they know to be gay are the wide open gays who tell everyone whether they want to know or not. they do not respect the rights of religious people not to be inundated with their brand of "trash talk" .

The quiet and reserved ones go unnoticed so all they see are the flamboyant and stereotypical gays some of whom give good reason to fear. ie a complete lack of respect for good taste and decency in some cases.

Do you honestly believe that people have an irrational fear of gay people? Isn't it just a disapproval of their lifestyle choice?

To say that someone is a "homophobe" is a dishonest way to frame an argument. It's framing an argument by intimidating the other person. It's just like calling someone a racist, first they have to prove they aren't a racist, which is next to impossible.

No, there is no such thing as a "Homophobe". This is just a made up phrase to intimidate straight people to agree with them. It's a tactic used by bullies, and the ignorant.

Most people don't believe that gay is a healthy lifestyle choice, they don't hate you for your choice, they just don't accept your choice. Big difference.

I was extremely homophobic before I came out of the closet. Maybe it was just denial. Actually I am a female so guys did not bother me but women did. Now nothing bothers me.

I used to be because I was not comfortable being gay myself. I still am in the closet, but I'm more comfortable with gays. I don't do the things I used to when I was homophobic.

I am not homophobic and I am not homosexual either.

Its about the love not the gender.

Once again, because I know everyone's going to think I'm lying, I'm straight.

Not at all.
there is no reason to be afraid/ or against it.
I mean, this question is going to cause a lot of controversy.
but if it doesn't affect someone, i don't see the point in trying to stop it?
or judging something you've never had to experience.

Nope I'm not. 1. Because I'm gay and 2. My parents told me not to judge or hate others because they are different than me.

No, unless the homosexual people start carrying weapons and threatening people at random. Hehe. People's sex lives are really none of my business.
