Many people claim that God is coming for the world again pretty soon. We are all waiting to see that day. But I must say I disgree with the bible in many ways. Me, myself, have found the bible to be pretty faulty, so I do not put much interest in the bible. Nevertheless, a lot of what the bible says is true.

According to what I got to understand, God comes for the world everyday without us realizing it. Once you die, there you go ( Your judgement day has arrived). You either was sent to hell or to heaven with the Lord. You are no longer a part of the world.

So, bear in mind God comes for the world everyday. Your time is limited and immient to expire, but only God knows your date.

May I hear your thoughts?

I am a fundamentalist Christian and I take the Bible to be the absolute truth of God. I am confused when it comes to more liberal Christians that pick and choose what they what to believe? How do they choose what to believe in? What are they basing this on? Where is their evidence?

It doesn't sound very scientific.

They will believe one story happened and the next one they will take as allegorical and it's not all based on how hard they are to believe.

Most of the more liberal Christians actually believe the stories of Jesus happened pretty the way they are written down. They have no problem with Jesus walking on water, but they don't believe a woman was turned into salt. My argument is God is all powerful so who says he can't do whatever he wants?

Anyways, regardless of what you think of my beliefs, you can at least say I am consistent in them.

What do you think?

It seems that the more scientists learn about the universe, and life and things in general, they are realizing that most religious beliefs (and they are just that, beliefs) aren't quite as believable as religious people think they are. Im sure there are lots.

I bought this for my husband on our honeymoon:

"Driver carries no cash... he's married"

When he got another work truck he bought himself this one:

"Lost, wife and dog. Reward for dog."

Now it's just plain and simple: "Old Guys Rule"

I already asked this, but only got like 5 responces. I played this video game called Deus Ex. Basically, the game takes place in the future when man is able to modify the human body both genetically and technologically. The game ends with every human being getting both genetically and technologically modified to survive in any environment in the universe. They also hooked every persons brain into a wireless super computer that this new race of humans calls God. Basically, they literally invented a God and worshipped him. If humans do this in the future, what would be your moral opinions on this???

I am a Christian and was reading some texts regarding sin. Here's what I found:
"Slaves, obey your masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart." 1 Corinthians 14:33-35
"Women shall be silent in churches, for they are not permitted to speak." Ephesians 6:5-6
Obviously, we no longer keep slaves and even in conservative churches women are allowed to speak. So, if we can disregard this, why all the hubbub about homosexuality and the Bible being taken literally?

primary reasons for the decline and fall? I would emphasize the erosion of the middle class, the burgeoning national debt, the failure of our educational system to keep up with other nations in science and math, and our inability to provide adequate health care for millions of our own children.

This statement or motto indirectly means that there is no middle ground or neutrality.

It also implies that if anyone does not fully support whatever "our side" is doing then they are no longer "with us".

If anyone critisizes "our side" then they are no longer "with us".

"Our side" can commit war crimes or crimes against humanity but we cannot find fault in them because that would be aiding the "enemy".

This is the exact mentality Christians had during the rise and rule of HITLER.

Seeing the rise and fall of all the Gods isn't Atheism the only possible winner between "God" and atheism ?
Since the dawn of time there was at least one person doubting what others told him about religion.
There were Sumerian, Egyptian , Greek , Roman, Slav and modern religions (Islam, Chrstianity, Judaism, ... ), but there is only one Atheism.

There is the LDS custom that your body is a temple and that you must take care of it throughout your life (which is reasonable and respectable). One thing that follows this practice is that Mormons won't drink coffee or tea because they are hot drinks and caffeinated. But this raises a question: why are you allowed to drink hot chocolate and cola products? Hot chocolate is a hot drink and soft drinks are loaded with caffeine. Is it the combination together that is bad? Is "hot coke" a no-no? Please clarify. Plus, why is a "hot drink" bad for the body and belly?

Here are his own words, in reply to all the talk going around about him believing in god.

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious, then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." - Albert Einstein

"The idea of a personal God is quite alien to me and seems even naive" - Albert Einstein

Here's the deal, I have a really good friend coming into town to visit me and he is gay. It doesn't bother me obviously but I just moved in with a new roomate. I knew this guy previously to moving in with him but I don't know his position on homo-sexuality. I need to tell him out of repsect for the house but how would I bring this up?

Should I just straight tell him " I have a gay friend coming into town" or should I find out his position on gays first. I just don't want things to become awkard between anyone.

And I'm not gay ( I don't know if this makes a difference or not)

Would you agree that Monotheism is the worst thing to happen to the human race?

Before then the pagans while the conquered each other it was not in the name of god. You could worship your god, their god, many gods or all of the above. Even if they occupied your land they let you continue with your traditions and did not convert by force. Once monotheism came that all changed (much more so in the christian/muslim era)

That makes it sound like a choice for many, and also the latest fashion! Why would people want something they are not born with? Are they influenced by cultural surroundings and socialization? People are who they hang around the most so with what appears to be youth experimenting with their sexuality, it sounds like a choice! What is everyone's thoughts about this?
