I already know the answers from the chrisians so I am sure I don't even need to read them, but hey feel free to waste 30 seconds of your life, it's yours (well not really).

Would you agree that Monotheism is the worst thing to happen to the human race?

Before then the pagans while the conquered each other it was not in the name of god. You could worship your god, their god, many gods or all of the above. Even if they occupied your land they let you continue with your traditions and did not convert by force. Once monotheism came that all changed (much more so in the christian/muslim era)

Stoty that is not the same at all, they did not invade in the name of god with the threat of killing you all if you didnt' convert. You were welcome to practice whatever religion you wanted.

I wouldn't single out monotheism; any religion is culpable. See:

Why do you assume that pagans never invaded over religion? Did you think any of the Roman Emperors didn't consult the seer before invading another country for slaves? The pagan Greeks, Romans and Egyptians and probably those other guys that lived in the Middle East at the time (not to mention Vikings)!!! Sheesh! What kind of statement are you making? Of course they did! It was their entire existence! "The gods are smiling on us!"

Everybody, even Pagans tried to pwn God.

Right, the pagans just sacrificed you to them. The heck with converting you. Every other nation that they didn't understand were taken over, annihilated, raped and pillaged.

The martyrs were FORCED to kneel to those megalomaniacs! If they didn't they were KILLED!!! That's pretty much the choice back then. Let the Circus begin! Get your head out of the idealistic clouds of the past. You couldn't survive one day in a pagan society.

Or, ...OH, I'M SORRY! I didn't know that you can pick and choose the era when to be a pagan. Oh, maybe there was a peaceful Monotheistic time as well. (Do you think?) People are ALWAYS trying to promote what they think is right and best for everyone else because it worked for them.. What a step backwards your question is!

You're very possibly right. Monotheism is the ultimate "my way or the highway" mentality. Of course monotheists claim that they are saying "God's way or ...", but generally monotheism is used as an license to be selfish. Consider that monotheists generally believe that they are a member of a group of people who are "God's chosen" and therefore entitled to special treatment.

though polytheism wasn't all fun and games either, monotheism seems to have fallen in the wrong hands. of course the entity HAS to be a man and of course women HAVE to be evil therefore. women were once respected at least, as the lookalikes of goddesses and powerful beings. monotheism changed all that. now women are not even given that much these days.

I think dogmatism, bigotry, fundamentalism and several other nasty habits are "built-in" to a lot of religions. Once you start proclaiming you hold the ultimate truth the loons will come.

I don't know if there would have been wars over the pagan gods eventually, but I could see it happening in an alternate history.

not all monotheirsts are bad (there are actually many good ones), but their system itself encourages evil.
