Is the concept of Satan over the top? It seems as though Satan has nothing better to do than to try to get people to go to hell?

Why would he care? For more souls? If God is willing to send someone to hell forever no matter how good of a person they are simply because they are not a Christian, then the devil should have nothing to worry about when it comes to getting plenty of souls.

And what's he going to do? Torture them forever? Wouldn't that get boring? Does this mean that Satan has no life? Doesn't he do anything else?

And why would Satan have power in hell? Isn't that kind of like being rewarded? Doesn't Satan get tortured too? And what about the demons? Do the demons get tortured too? Do they take turns where on all odd numbered days a certain group of demons and Satan get tortured and then on even days Satan and the other demons do the torturing?

Do this make sense to ANYONE who is not a Christian or a Muslim?

What is a good way to prevent divorce from happening in the first place?

Gn 18:1-10a

The LORD appeared to Abraham by the terebinth of Mamre,
as he sat in the entrance of his tent,
while the day was growing hot.
Looking up, Abraham saw three men standing nearby.
When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to greet them;
and bowing to the ground, he said:
“Sir, if I may ask you this favor,
please do not go on past your servant.
Let some water be brought, that you may bathe your feet,
and then rest yourselves under the tree.
Now that you have come this close to your servant,
let me bring you a little food, that you may refresh yourselves;
and afterward you may go on your way.”
The men replied, “Very well, do as you have said.”

I refer you to my previously asked question.

If a book looks like a monotheistic anthology written by Jews, why not call it that? What's with the code name...is it just to trick people into thinking it's more than what it is?

God says in the Bible about David "thou art my son: today I have begotten thee." (Psalms 2:7) and " And (I) will be a father unto you and you shall be my sons and daughters saith the Lord Almighty." (Corinthians 6:18)

Jesus also says "That ye may be the children of your father." (John 5:45)

Jesus prayed to Almighty God yet people call him God or son of God. He was merely a messenger to the people, right? He said "I can of mine own self do nothing." And more importantly Jesus said:

"but in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of God" (Matthew 15:9)

Some people may say "oh, but Jesus said I and the father are one" which would mean one of two things: 1. you are misinterpretating a metaphorical statement as literal 2. the Bible is contradictory

I forgot to turn on my head lights &the police just followed me for a while, I didn't realize they wanted to notify me due to them just staying behind me with absolutely no lights/sirens whatsoever, so then I stopped& parked just out of curiosity. They jumped out of their car and asked me if I had a gun/drugs in my car, screaming&yelling, telling me to keep my hands on the wheel, asked me tons of personal questions, what I had for dinner, &made TONS of unnecessary comments, accused me some things that were so disgusting that they are against my religion to even discuss some of the disgusting things they were accusing me of. I asked them why they would ask me such questions. Initially they tried to arrest me for trying to "drive away" from them which I did not. I just spent about 3 hours crying uncontrollably &feel like I am dead inside,so depressed & I feel too depressed even to go to work today, I feel like my life is over

It always amazes me how often the people who support us and serve us end up being invisible. Think about the janitor who empties your wastebasket at work, the sacker at the grocery store, the barista or cashier at Starbucks. Smile, look them in the eye and say something to encourage them.

If you already do that, you’re kick’en ***!

I’m off to find some lunch. Chicken mole sounds like the ticket today.

The idea that the Bible is a perfect guide to morality is simply astounding, given the contents of the book. Admittedly, God's counsel to parents is straightforward: whenever children get out of line, we should beat them with a rod (Proverbs 13:24, 20:30, and 23:13-14). If they are shameless enough to talk back to us, we should kill them (Exodus 21:15, Leviticus 20:9, Deuteronomy 21:18-21, Mark 7:9-13, and Matthew 15:4-7). We must also stone people to death for heresy, adultery, homosexuality, working on the Sabbath, worshipping graven images, practicing sorcery, and a wide variety of other imaginary crimes.

Jesus, at several points in the New Testament, endorses the entirety of the Old Testament law. "For truly I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:18-19

Try to interpret this without contextualization, historical placement, logic, and reading the text figuratively... You can't. History, context, logic, and an understanding of scripture are vital.

What does this say about morals? Is it POSSIBLE for the Bible to be the singular basis for morals and ethics? Should it be?

Jesus said: " Blessed are you when men shall hate you, ...and shall reproach you, and cast your name out as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice, and leap for joy!...for GREAT is your reward in heaven!" (Luke 6:22)

They are (in their ignorance) MAKING US RICH! :))

Remember...

.."... for we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, hateful, and hating one another. But after the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteoudness we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,..." (Titus 3:3)
