I saw Hindu women, Jane women and even nuns being stopped and checked at the airport. Ever seen or experience this yourself?

Hey I'm Buddhist, I've gotten treated badly for daring to wear a T-shirt that has the Saudi flag on it. It makes a great lesson in compassion, and empathy.

on occasion we misunderstand your remark expensive, yet because of the fact that i understand which you're a muallaf, i will settle on your worry you place on your questions. properly like a number of our muslims sisters and brothers asserting, enable them to hunt. i'm hoping they seek it ideal no longer in simple terms a proforma; it incredibly is a pity that they only seek "the muslim's look" because of the fact the bomber may be all and sundry. Checking hand bags contained in the airport is widespread, they try this random because of the fact that long term in the past. Dont worry, subject replaced, have you ever study what V.Putin pronounced the different day abt Bush ? it incredibly is interresting. Salaam

Shouldn't this be a "political" question?
I would guess that if you didn't look or sound like a terrorist or suspicious, your chances of being stopped in the airport would drop dramatically.
Until then, don't complain because everyone else that travels by airplane has been stopped at least once or twice.
Go USA!!!

When I was a consultant I worked with a Muslim guy. Every Friday we would have to leave for the airport a half hour early because he would routinely be pulled aside for special consideration. Thankfully, he had a good sense of humor about it (actually he had a great sense of humor in general) and we could usually have a good laugh about it. He would say things like "Don't forget, we have to leave early in case I accidently have a bomb."

My 73 year-old wheelchair bound mother was stopped at the airport and checked. I can't imagine how they could have thought her a threat.

Please, you are trying to make a matter of security into an example of religious bigotry. Time to stop now.

I do not think so...
My dearest friend was detained at a major U.S airport for NINE HOURS, for no reason! She does not dress like a typical Muslim woman, as she is not particularly religious. Perhaps she was detained because she came from a Muslim country; I have no idea...

I get checked more often when I wear a little Buddha in a wheel of life pendant that I have. Apparently, people equate Buddhism with terrorism now (???)

No. I am checked every time I fly. My name was on the IRA terrorist list from Ireland. Someone there has the same name as me. It is a pain in the ... when I fly.
