When there aren't scarce resources and a feeling of entitlement. So, probably not in any of our lifetimes.

We'll never start accepting each other. Not until everyone has equal rights, I'm not specifically yammering about same-sex marriage, though that's a place to start.
Another place to start might be handicap acceptance, racial blindness, acceptance of those from outside our borders, or religious acceptance.
To those "Christians", yeah, I'm talking to you: Christianity isn't the biggest faith in the world, Islam is. There are more people worshipping Allah than Jesus. I'm Buddhist, I stay out of these messes, if I can help it. Different faiths is a big messer-upper in the acceptance field. "Live and let live" isn't just a bumper-sticker slogan.
Anyway, good luck getting people to accept each other. I'll do my damnedest, and so will my circle of friends.

Parents do not teach their children a lot of things these days. Since this is not Heaven it will be a very long time before people accept people simply because they are there. If I could change the world and make it my way someone would come along and destroy it.

In my humble opinion, a great many parents aren't teaching their children a damned thing worth learning. They seem to be leaving it to the schools, who are not equipped for that sort of need and so our children are without guidance and have no idea how to set and achieve a life goal, or even how to live a good life. From what I have seen 60% of the people out there with offspring should never have had them because they have no clue how to raise them.

That's why I chose to travel to over 50 countries before the age of 28. It really opened my mind. I learned so much.
Am I still intolerant to people who find homosexuality as bad? Yes. But what I discovered on my travels is that its just part of their culture. I don't like that, but I'll respect that. Just so long as they don't impune it upon me. Do I wish we could all live in equality? Yes, very much so. But I realize that this is not the truth. I'll do whatever I can do to help out for equality, but when it comes to visiting less tolerant places I just forget it and open my eyes to the rest of their culture.

It's truly sad, yes? It is the ones that claim to be Christian AND are racist that get me the most!! I would believe (not accept) those that DON'T believe in God to be racist - mean is what mean does, but professed Christians?? SICK!! I sadly do not think we will EVER just get along. A lot of people are out just for themselves and raise their children as such!! Not enough of us are good. Thus the reason God cries!!!

Dude all kids have tolerance built in it's the parents who take it away from them.
You put together a multi racial playgroup of kids and they can play together like their is no difference between them, as it should be and as is seen on the streets with young kids playing.
But you add a can of parents and see what happens....

I have always taught my son tolerance. Tolerance for others of different races, sexual orientation, and religion.
Unfortunately I have to teach him to be intolerant of intolerance.

When for instance a homosexual accepts that my Christian religion--the biggest faith in the world!--teaches that homosexuality is a sin and THEY are tolerant of that then we can talk. As best I can tell, tolerance is a one-way street. It says to me that I'm a biggot and I'm intolerant and that I must accept you and your ways. Never the other way around.

Tolerance!!!
What does that mean? To me, it signifies the mental manipulation of dynamics that contribute to the holders nebulous feeling of superiority. Acceptance. Not tolerance.
